Aye he's not someone who's value will skyrocket like some are predicting imo, in fact it wouldn't shock me if he does go for less than £10 million in the summer.

Only worry is it might not be us who gets him, but at the same time I wouldn't have paid £13 million for him, he's a good player but at that price I'd expect a game changer.

Still a day and a half left in the window, let's see who we get before we start calling Nicholson specky

 

The issue that may be the case is we've clearly rated this lad and valued him at what we think he's worth.

IF Brondby are refusing to sell OR over inflating his price, and we pay over the odds - then that snowballs into later transfers for us if we're going to pay well over on one signing.

 

Most Danish sides seem to command high transfer fees...Nordsjaelland sold 2 players last season for a combined 40 million quid. The fee being asked is too high I think and we've spent too long on this transfer

 

So effectively we’ve arsed about all window chasing him (18 months, actually), only to decide with a couple days left we don’t want to fork out for him. Great.

To sell Kvistgaarden who is second top goalscorer in the Danish League and 2nd in goal involvements, would impact their season dramatically, so naturally they are going to want top dollar for their biggest asset.
Apparently there is strong interest from Germany also, which is why they will most likely hold out for what they feel is an acceptable offer. Whats more is that they know we need a striker after letting one go.

Im unsure why we let Kyogo go before before we had a replacement all but in the door. Surely we did some enquiring behind the scenes regarding the Kvistgaarden situation before selling Kyogo.
Iheanacho doesnt fill me with any real conviction due to his relatively underwhelming goal record, albeit at a good level of football.

We dont seem to have handled the left back and striker situation very well and Rodgers should be demanding the board bring in an adequate Kyogo replacement. Celtic needs a 20 goal a season striker. That should be the standard.

 

At what point of the whole enquiry thing do we ask about price? We must have known their value for a while so did we just think they were taking the *?

Wonder how far we are apart? Would imagine couldn't have been miles apart otherwise we should have left this well before now.

 

Tough to negotiate when you are both desperate and loaded and club don't need to sell.
Sometimes if really want the player, especially in Jan window - you have to pay the price on the ticket or go elsewhere rather than wasting time and energy haggling
We've only had 3 transfer windows to get this done and several months since Kyogo told the club he was leaving.

 

Going into second half of the league campaign and a champions league play off game with 1 Striker that has 2 gls since November would probably class us as a bit desperado

Daizens banned for the home leg against Bayern. And iv said in a previous post that the Danish boy isn't worth what his club are asking...Im * that they told us what they want for him but instead of quickly moving onto other targets with plenty of the transfer window left we've had this ridiculous back n forth haggling match with them for a month. We should of moved on sooner
