Aye but that's ma point mate, you're assuming that Tisdale wouldn't have done his part of the remit.

If for talking sake, he identified (lets just say for example) Jota and Tierney - he puts them forward to manager and finance (Nicholson) then the deals dont get done. Well, that's not down to him, is it?

 

Bottom line is Kyogo should never have been allowed to leave until a replacement was more or less in. Also if indications were Valle may be away that should have been covered. Absolute * stuff.

 

Will be interesting to see who we get if the Iheanacho rumour was fake.

If the window ended with Jota, Strelec and Orjasaeter I'd be fine with that, but it'd obviously leave us light at LB unless we call Anderson back.

Going with Jota and Orjasaeter would tell me we plan to use Maeda through the middle, and maybe revisit Kvistgaarden in the summer.

If it's only Jota then that's pretty disappointing, and would leave us needing a lot in the summer window.

You'd expect to see some links breaking tonight either way.

 

As it stands we are overall weaker near to the end of this window.

if we don’t sign a LB and a replacement for Kyogo then it will be criminal.

There is absolutely no excuse for the board not to be able to go out and get two players for Rodgers.

It's a collective effort though isn't it.. there needs to be achievable targets and plenty of them..

All I'm saying is so far we've brought in Jota and KT(delighted with both) but both nothing to do Tisdale..

Kyogo had indicated he wanted away in the summer. Do you not think that was time enough to identify and have his replacement lined up?

 

So much about this window feels weird. We need to wait until it's closed to give any opinion but so much is odd..

Kyogo leaving for Rennes is weird in itself. Celtic knowing since the summer he was wanting to go, letting him go in January, and (it appears) having no immediate plan B,C and D, lined up and ready to go is crazy.

The Tierney deal has also clearly been in the pipeline for a while. But why we chose to let Valle go before we knew if Tierney was replacing him was weird. Especially given Taylor is looking to move on as well.

Even the Jota deal, which is great news, just happened to be with the same team that Kyogo moved to for no clear reason (besides a bigger wage).

The net of all of that is probably negative in the short term and ok in the longer term. But a few injuries in key areas and we will suddenly look like a much worse team.

 

At 5 it would be worth a punt. 10 I don’t think so. I reckon we’ve bid for him though.

 

Think we can all admit on paper it does now look like a poor window with 53 hours to go and that's football squad for 2nd half season unless there is serious dramatic change is

Why does it feel like we've abandoned the japanese/Asian market altogether? We haven't looked there at all really since brendan came in.

 

There's probably a lot of markets we haven't properly checked.
