Happy enough with this, I know we have money, but should never pay £14m for the boys from brondby and £8m for Strelec, would rather wait till the summer if ihenacho does well we can sign him , if naw we will get someone proper decent for £8-£14m

    What relevance is that?

If a player signs a pre-contract with another team, then you obviously KNOW he's not going to be a part of your squad come the next window.

Just because Kyogo said he wanted to leave didn't mean it was set in stone he was leaving this window - takes a club to come in with an offer at the very least, does it not? We've obviously looked at names for replacements, but what Mr Mouth clearly can't comprehend is my point being we can't replace him until we need to replace him.

Scenario - we sign a "replacement" on the first day of the transfer window opening with the view that Kyogo may leave (no offers in yet), that leaves us having New Guy, Idah and Kyogo on the books. What happens then if no one came in for Kyogo?

We all know so little about the inner workings of the recruitment ; tracking , scouting , earmarking, timelines .... hence Rodgers "behind the scenes " bit. Makes these debates you're having pretty redundant it's mainly guess work.

Curious, who do you think is “proper decent” between the value of £8m-£14m and would fit into our wage structure.

Correct, but we DO know what Rodgers has told us (funnily enough, he mentioned it only when Kyogo's plane ticket had been booked), and we DO know that only one club came in for him officially...

    What do you not get?

We have know for months he wanted away. You are correct at that time we had no offers but he wanted away.

Did that mean 100% gone in January? No it didn't but BR says need to find a solution the solution is selling.

So...... say September or October time Kyogo says to Celtic I want to leave. What do we do next?

    A. * all, wait until he actually leave then panic.

    Or

    B. Make a plan and look at potential targets with scenarios of him leaving in January or the summer. Identify targets how much they will costs and the likelihood of us getting the players.

Now which option do you think we took? A or B? You've already said option A, but I refuse to believe someone is that nieve.

That's why Iam a mobile phone technician rather than a football scout and my champ manager days are long gone lol

There's no doubt the winter transfer window is harder than the summer one, if were spending that money on a striker there will be better options out there than the brondby boy who we've scouted for years and Strelec who I feel would be a panic buy

I think the issue some of us think the moment he tells the manager he wants to be leave then we should be looking to replace whereas others like yourself are of the opinion he has to be gone before we can replace him.

I just think the second he walked out of the office after saying he wanted to leave then we should have been all over getting a replacement for him. We've heard umpteen times about how if players don't want to be here then the manager will not stand in their way.

Congratulations buddy, you finally got there in the end. Well done on proving my point :50:

As for the rest of your rambling, if you'd have had answered any of my previous questions instead of skimming over or ignoring them, you wouldn't have wasted time typing the rest of that pish out.

Don't you worry about me fella, I'm nowhere near as nieve as yourself...

I don't know what ridiculous argument you think you're making here.

So the club has known for months he wants to leave (going back to last Summer, apparently), but haven't done the work necessary to get in a proper replacement should that happen?

Players can depart in one of two windows every year, so unless Kyogo categorically said I'll wait until the Summer of 25' and changed his mind at the last second why are they even surprised? If they weren't confident of getting a proper replacement, why sell him at all?

If selling our best striker and replacing him with a washed up guy with one or two good seasons to his name on loan a few days before the deadline isn't incompetence, I don't know what is.

It's madness the lengths some will go to defending this crap.

I'd be pretty underwhelmed by this. He's had about 2 good seasons in his career and not for a while.

Listen, the minute he came in and told me he wanted off if I was manager, he'd have been on the bench until he left.

That being said, regardless of whether he wanted away or not, we were absolutely under no obligation to sell him, nor sell him at a low value because of what he wanted. So, the ball was in our court.

We didn't have to sell him to Rennes there - but clearly it worked out the way we wanted it to.

Yep he's back in full flow, I think he posted two or three times prior to this week.

I hate to see how he'd react if we had a good transfer window, I honestly think he wants us to have a bad window so he can vent his * as often as possible.
