Definitely scraping the bottom of the barrel of who is available now as we panic to get someone in. Not filling me with confidence.

I know it's crazy. And you can bet your bottom dollar, a lot of clubs have sat back and taken notice of Idah now. I wouldn't be surprised if we get cheeky bids in for Idah now. It was an elite performance against an elite team.

Back on topic, I would definitely take Kelechi Iheanacho. Big bruiser that fits the bill of Rodger's much vaunted pace and power.

Ok, I'll try and make it a bit simpler for you.

When did Kyogo finally get his move? How many clubs were ACTUALLY in for him and made offers?

Considering you've quoted BR - let me pull this snippet from what you've provided:

"Clearly, we wouldn't have wanted to have sold him, certainly not at this point" - so, try and read it carefully. It states we DID NOT WANT TO SELL HIM! He's only been sold because we got a great offer and managed to get some sort of side deal that benefitted us getting Jota.

It's no really difficult mate, take your time...

If the club were genuinely not looking for strikers the minute Kyogo and his team told the club they wanted to move on, it would be grossly incompetent.

They 100% will have been talking to representatives of multiple strikers for months. I think it’s quite clear that the club thought they would be in a position to sign Kvistgaarden and his club are holding off for a fee that we won’t go to. So, we are now looking for alternatives. Iheanacho is clearly a short term option to get to the summer. Whether we plan on bidding for Kvistgaarden again, is anyone’s guess but Brondby may be willing to deal with us at the price we are willing to pay in the summer.

Of course we didn't want to sell but he also said once someone wants away you need to find a solution. Solution is selling the player and we have known for a number of months.

Both really really poor returns when the vast , vast majority of games you're playing for Celtic in the SPFL. Needs to be far better for main striker here.

Player wants away and known for months but apparently you do nothing about it or make any plans, you do nothing with your scouts or review tapes of players until the player has left us. Must be the thickest take I've read on here in a very long time

20 goals is the bare minimum you'd expect from your strikers.

Kyogo never managed that last season, but you have to take into account that we're getting goals from all angles - so as long as they're contributing elsewhere too.

Anyway , back in topic . Think Iheanacho could do really well here , certainly not worthy of a meltdown before he's put the jersey on he has serious pedigree and if he can find form again we are laughing . Playing domestically for this club can be a great way to bring a striker back to his best , plenty of chances every game .

I think both the player and the club would have been fairly confident if he wanted to go that someone would have bid for him. It means in the last few days of the window we are fire fighting trying to replace our best striker and look to bring in a LB be it Tierney or a 6 month loan. It's not really strengthening the squad coming out of the window in comparison of how we went in to it is it ? We are so often told that is the ambition to leave a window stronger than we went in to it

Literally bare minimum. One of my pet peeves is our strikers not being the penalty taker. Helps with their confidence , and obviously their stats which also effects confidence , perception , and value .

Again, WHEN did Kyogo actually depart? Only after a deal was done, and that was last week.

No other offers come in for him other than Rennes, so how can you replace him when nothing has been sorted out in terms of him actually cementing a move? You can't have 3 guys fighting for 1 place.

If Idah's on, he's taking the penalties.

Michael Nicholson confirmed a while ago that we plan for the first team squad for 6, 12, 18, and 24 months ahead. With that in mind it's clear we would've looked at options if Kyogo was to actually move on.

I don't think you actually know what you've been saying. Read over the replies you're very much on your own with your random nonsense.

Of course we would have started looking months ago. If we didn't then people are not doing their jobs.

So does this mean no club in the world is capable of being proactive unless a player signs a pre contract and it's set in stone they have a date he is leaving ?

If Kyogo goes to the manager and tells him he wants to leave as seems to have been the case based on Rodgers interviews surely at that point the wheels get set in motion to get a replacement lined up. We're all working off assumptions but it seems fairly safe to assume that Kvistgaarden has been the number one target to replace Kyogo that deal is now apparently off and we're scrambling to get a 6 month loan in

Aye, looking at options for replacing Kyogo is one thing, bringing in a replacement when Kyogo's still here with no confirmation he's leaving is silly.

That's why we're now looking to ACTIVELY SIGN (not identify) a replacement, AFTER he's been sold, because now we need to replace him.

BTW you've still not answered my questions from posts ago - HOW MANY OFFERS CAME IN FOR KYOGO? WHEN DID KYOGO LEAVE?

And again, you've not even the dignity to answer the question from my last post....
