Rodgers having managed him before is actually a positive. It means he'll know exactly what he's getting and will know how best to utilise his strengths.

How do you know that this wasn't one of the options drawn up?

Seems like it's clear Kvitsgaarden is/was our first choice. But I'm not surprised if we don't want to pay £13m for him.

It’s doesn’t but Idah is the one I’d imagine we have plans to make a profit on. If he kicks on and has a good couple of seasons.

Exactly. You’re no signing a player who you thinks * when it’s your job that’s on the line.

From what I’ve seen, fair enough not a lot, he’s not worth anything remotely close to that number and we’re being extorted because of the sale of Kyogo.

I like the look of him and would prefer him but aye the fee is steep. I'd be happy with Iheanacho though.

At least a couple of our best signings in recent years have been players already known to the manager.

How could we have a plan in place to replace Kyogo simply because the player said he wanted to leave? How do you know we didn't have x players identified on the off chance that a club made bids for Kyogo, and are currently acting on them just now?

We couldn't have signed a Kyogo replacement until he was actually sold, or if we did it would have caused headaches with either a: 3 first team players for one position, b: hampers Idah c: drop kyogo in place of another, then that affects potential suitors and possibly the fee for Kyogo.

Immensely underwhelming replacement for one of our best ever strikers.

If this happens we have to bow to Rodgers better knowledge of Iheanacho as he had him at Leicester, I've never liked Iheanacho though so hopefully I've been wrong

At least it looks like a loan. If he’s Shiite we don’t need to buy him

This is just so Celtic.. knowing your best striker is leaving you end up scrambling around for a replacement

If he gets near to the level he was at City , we will all be very happy . He's a purple patch striker always has been . Had some really good spells at Leicester , I used to rate him very highly. Interested to see how this goes . Optimistic

We knew kyogo was away , if we were serious about getting in a replacement then kvistgaarden could have been in at the start of their winter break. Had months to start talks with clubs , no sticking up for the club on this one it's sheer mismanagement

Kvistgaarden is a big gamble at the fee suggested when idah is contracted to summer 29 and jury still out on whether he can be a consistent performer

He will end up on big wages so I wouldn't call it penny pinching. Desperation aye
