If this is true and it is a loan then it basically confirms we never had any plan in place for Kyogo going despite seemingly knowing it was on the cards for a while he would be off

I think its pretty clear Kvistgaarden was our plan and we've been unable to do a deal there. So this is a backup plan.

Had a 19 goal season 4/5 years ago and hasn't cracked double figures since, doesn't fill me with confidence, hopefully just a lazy link because he's an ex Rodgers player.

Never actually watched him play tbh but was he not very highly rated? Could be confusing him with Abraham though

Someone who I think showed so much promise in his early days with Man City but I would say made a bad move to Leicester as they treat Vardy as their Kane because given half the chance Vardy is always playing regardless of form.

Would be real intrigued to see how this type of move would work out and wouldn't be against him coming in short term whilst also getting in kvistgaarden and allowing him time to settle into Glasgow life whilst Iheanacho and Idah are our main 2

Like the idea tbh. He’s a player when he on it and sometimes a player just needs a certain club.

I’m for Kvistgaarden but don’t want to pay crazy money. If we end up going over £10m for him and he doesn’t get going we have £20m worth of strikers up top of may not be good enough. (All for Idah btw but jury still clearly out which is fair)

I think folk seem to believe we have an endless pot of money. We could be in for a few years without CL now so have to get to keep this player trading model going as it is.

Or had a plan we were unable to execute, which is worse..

But, like I keep saying a lot can happen in the next two days.

Sevilla have good pedigree at taking these players in the middle of their career and turning them into top end la Liga/ Europa league players. Considering his previous history with Rodgers, the structure of the deal, age, strengths etc I wouldn't be too unhappy with this. Yes kvistgaarden is the much much more exciting but maybe too risky with the fee involved

There's very little similarly in profile between this and Kvistgaarden to suggest it was our direct backup plan.

We've went way down the list clearly.. unless our targeting devolves to player we've been watching for 18 months and Rodgers phone book.

6 goals in 27 games. Wouldn't say blown away.

Regardless you mentioned seeing him on MOTD and regaining that form. My question was what form?

The form that made him the second most expensive African player in history behind Salah mate, I don’t even think it’s an argument he was absolutely class at that stage?

You’ve conveniently left off his European assists again to suit a POV, which given the type of striker he is, is silly.

    Price tag doesn't mean much.

Hes a striker so he's judged on goals. You asked mu thoughts on his form, so I responded, I didn't leave anything out on purpose :giggle1: We need a finisher. I stand by the argument that he isn't one and never has been.

I'll agree to disagree because I've seen enough of him to think, personally, that he's never been absolutely class. For me he's another who's came through at a big side in England and been overrated as a result. Hence that price tag.

To be fair this signing wouldn't suit our trading model, though.

Yes you did, I asked for your opinion on his European numbers not his goals? So you chopped half them off to suit a POV.

His fee, along with who he has played for, is one of the things that can be used to prove he is a good player. Over and above all of that though, he was Rodgers striker, his opinion will do me.

    You're being pedantic.

If talking about a strikers "numbers" you know as well as me you'll go to goals. I do apologise for not checking every last minute he's played and assist he's had. I didn't do anything on purpose to suit my opinion as its really not that deep. We've just lost a goalscorer, we need another. He isnt. That's my opinion.

As I've said, agree to disagree as you evidently feel different.

Honestly don’t know what to make of this.

On the one hand I’m thinking it might be a fresh start and he has had potential but not happened for him.

The other is this is a panic deal and he’s going to flop massively.

Mate I literally posted his numbers then asked your opinion on them, go back through the thread. And in direct comparison to Kyogo as well.

KDS guy said we wouldn't like a striker being named.
    Is it this chap?
