Would be an utter, utter embarrassment knowing Kyogo was gone for months and months to then scramble about for a 6 month loan type who no one really wants and is nothing like a game changing forward..

Joke of a club mate. So much potential but we refuse to try kick on.

Celtic and transfer windows. Name me a more disappointing combo.

Jota back is good and all and Tierney soured by not getting him now (when we need him). Now we know nothing about what goes on behind the scenes, but previous years have shown that where there's smoke there's fire and it looks like we've been too scared to get our main target and "plans" b, c & d are being rolled out.

We always leave these things to the last minute and we never have a settled team going into qualifiers in the Summer. You can guarantee we'll do the same again this Summer. Whoever is in charge of these things never seem to learn from previous mistakes.

And not prioritising a left back and for so long is damning too, not to mention lack of ever seeming to target a CDM is crazy.

There are * out there delighted with this. They are the real problem as they are delighted with mediocrity.

Yes that's what winning the SPL is its mediocrity as nobody outside Scotland gives a *. It's our bread and butter but we have to kick on as a club and believe me if we do it right the league is a formality unless the huns get sorted out which appears very unlikely.

Really does make you wonder about our scouting and recruitment team.

Our two signings (well, one and a half) so far are former players. The next incoming seems like one of Rodgers' former players.

Brondby will be inflating the price of Kvistgaarden cause it's Celtic that's asking. 14m they want cause Celtic's bank balance is public knowledge. They know we have thst cash.
If it was say Arsenal enquiring about the guy the fee would probably double.

I don't think Lawell and Desmond take kindly to having the * ripped out of them.......it would not surprise me therefore if they ditch the Kvistgaarden deal and move onto the next target. With time running out it could well be a last minute loan signing....which although we've had a few success stories (CCV, Jota, Idah, Bernardo)...we've also had some absolute shockers (Laxalt, Johnjoe Kenny, Oliver Burke, etc).

Loan deals are not the answer. It's not how Champions League level teams are supposed to operate.

I really think the fans will go ape-* if we turn up to play Bayern and we've not replaced Kyogo.

Saying the board is happy with mediocrity is correct and that's how they'll be looked upon if we rock up to the Allianz arena having sold our best striker without replacing him. It makes us look amateurish. You wouldn't get Bayern selling Harry Kane without replacing him. Or Lewandowski at Barca or Salah at Liverpool. You can't just leave a big void in your strikeforce especially when you've got the next round of the Champions League to play imminently.

Its an * thing to do

It isn't necessarily. But as I said, it makes you wonder what our scouting set up is like.

Or, he's identified targets and we're failing to get them over the line.

I see your point, but at the same time we know exactly that - hee haw.

What we CAN probably summise is how difficult it is for us to sign players - a load of them will be waiting to hear on any active interest from the likes of England etc, that's why we sign so many players later on in transfer windows.

Job title is "Head of Footballing operations" I'd imagine the decision to sell your best striker and terminate a loan for a left back, without having sure fire replacements ready must come, at least partly, under his remit

I've no issues with Valle, there was no future in that signing..

Let's see what happens with the rest of the window.. we'll sign a ST..

If we come out the window weaker and fail to get Ørjasæter and Kvistgaarden over the line, then he'll take blame with Nicholson, no doubt..

As I said said in another thread. Shows there's still issues within our recruitment/scouting set up.

The drop off in ability from target A to B is wild. The time it takes to move on signings as well, we always seem to be in a rush at the end of every window.

Even more amateurish when Kyogo has wanted to leave for a bit and we seem to scrambling for his replacement.

Always seem to say, aye we can address that next window. CDM and LB the main victims of that line.

We are in a position where we could crush every team in Scotland. It’s almost as if we don’t want to.

Any time i am having a good day and decide i want to feel a bit down or depressed all i have to do is look at a celtic transfer thread during any window.
When it comes to buying players we really are a club for * around and failing to get what we want.

We do anyway. No point in overspending to win a league we are comfortably miles ahead of everyone on and off the pitch. We should be looking to build a team capable of qualifying for the CL knockouts every season or winning the EL if we don’t make it. But at the same time not getting carried away where it could come back to bite us in years to come.

You'd be fuming if you were Johnny Kenny. Banging in goals in Europe just a month or two ago and now may have to sit behind someone who's had one decent scoring season in his career about 5 years ago.

But why would Tisdale be taking any blame?
