Apparently we've put in a 1 million bid for the hearts boy James Penrice


Mate who's a jambo knows someone at them and it's been mentioned

 

My manager at work is a Jambo and he's not one of those silly hun types. He was saying he fancied Penrice for moving down south and expected him to have a decent career.

 

Been mentioned a few times recently this according to my mate


I've no reason to doubt him

 

I mean at a million that's not bad , I've always been impressed. Could always move him on for the same or make a small profit

 

why underwhelming? Has a much better pedigree than Kvistgaarden based on the levels hes played at and same age basically. Played at the highest of levels done well at those Kvistgaarden hasn’t

 

Hope so I've been impressed anytime I've seen the lad

 

I thought he was 21 mind you not 26!

My mate thinks this is s real possibility

 

I've heard Penrice mentioned on open goal as being one of the stand out players of the season. Would definitely make sense to have him come in with Tierney.

I'm all in for Penrice as backup.

 

I like Penrice, whenever I've seen Hearts he's comfortably their best player.

 

I don’t agree that he’s played well at the highest level. 2 goals in the UCL, one being a penalty. A decent domestic record though, but hardly the highest level.

Failed in Serie B and had to go back to Slovan.

He looks like a big downgrade on Kyogo and while I’m not saying he’s a bad player, he doesn’t fill me with excitement.

 

And for all the Penrice talk too - a decent player, but really? We’ve went from targeting Tierney this window to 26 year old Penrice at Hearts?..

We should’ve just kept Valle.

He’s played decent at international level for Slovakia euros included and Champions League Level so he’s played on that level. Seen him play well at the euros and was decent in the highlights show I saw when Slovan played Athletico.

 

He also got 3 goals and 4 assists in CL qualification as well as 7 international goals.. I've not delved into to the standard of opposition but on the surface stats look OK..

He doesn't look as dynamic as Kvistgaarden but I guess none of us have seen much of either..

 

Aye I thought Penrice was younger as well, that would be a target of being Taylors replacement as backup for next season, I'd say he's a step down on Taylor, but we need a left back for the 2nd half of the season.

 

Penrice is a player. Would happily take him for £1m.

 

Why would they sell for so little, is what I'm wondering..
