I'm keeping my powder dry until between now and Monday 3PM. They maybe think they have done alright up until now, and take a calculated risk to scale back the purse strings, and go for the safer option of a loan or two.

If they go into the Munich game without having replaced Kyogo it's selling the fans short....simple as that.

Plus it's blatant stupidity. What do we do of Idah gets injured? Maeda suspended aswell.

From Rodgers interview today it sounded almost as if he had already resigned himself to going out against Munich. He did a lot of referring to our CL campaignin the past tense.

If we have any intentions in marking signings surely today is the last day for concrete names to come out less than 70 hours left in window.

I am not to fussed about names coming out, we usually have players lined up by the end of the window. We know we need at least Lb and striker, and we bid for a winger as well. So should be three in 70hrs.

If we are buying anyone i would imagine a deal needs to be 90% done in order to be sorted for the deadline.

I've an awful feeling we are gonna get a couple of panic loans which is criminal especially when Rodgers said we've known about Kyogo for months.

Please please please Celtic show me up.

Worrying thing is there will be people happy with selling Kyogo and getting a panic loan in.

Why do u worry what other people think lol? Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. You shouldnt worry over that lol.

i am with you on first bit though! Shouldnt have let Kyogo leave at this point without having 2/3 very strong and close options almost complete, so that we can chose our first option. But who knows? Not everything come in the media! So maybe we will be surprised by Monday.

We want to be stronger coming out of a window, than were were at the start of it....

That's not happening at the moment. Still a LB and a CF away from breaking even.

    Big few days coming up.

We should never have let kyogo go if we weren't sure we could get kvistgaarden this window.

Not to mention £77m cash in bank and a profit in player trading of nearly £20m since June

I was raging that we let Kyogo go and at first I thought that even if he was going to leave, it should have been at the end of the season.

But probably that deal was a 'take it or leave it' for January alone. And although they are saying that Kyogo and Jota were 2 separate deals....if we had refused to sell Kyogo to Rennes then surely they wouldn't have allowed Jota to come to us.
The profit margin aswell for Kyogo (and also Jota) could not be overlooked. Especially since Kyogo is 30 and stated that he wanted to move on.

As long as we sign a replacement then it was a good deal given the circumstances.

I’m pretty calm about things to be honest. Think the recruitment team deserve patience after the last window. There’s no way we’re not after a couple of players at least.

Shambles if we don’t get at least another two players in.

What was the figure of money in the bank last year?
£70m give or take? Did we make it above £80m?

Transfer dealings so far for the season sees us in PROFIT of circa £10-13m, that's including Jota and Kyogo, Bernie, but not Palma!

UCL money is estimated to be close to the £70m revenue for this year, which is easily £20-30m more than usual.

It's very very realistic that we will be over £100m in the bank.

    Get the finger out Celtic.

If it's £14m for kvistgaarden and he is who we want. Get done with it already.
Same for the winger and hopefully another * CB and LB for next season!
Can spend £40m between now and Monday and still post money in the bank of £60-70m

Ex Leicester boy linked with a loan now.

We let go of Kyogo without any plan in place.

Wannabee top European team with a tin pot attitude towards the playing squad.

........and there lies the problem. Lawell, Desmond and the rest of them love the sound of the bank balance.
It's an impressive announcement to be making at the AGM, and they want it to stay like that.

For them the business model works....buy project players for a low fee and punt them to England or elsewhere for a major mark up.
Going out and spending 15-20 mil on Kyogo's replacement is not what they want to be doing....and they won't. They won't alter the business model as they are operating while making a profit. Not many clubs can say that.

I think the 13m on Engels will remain the glass ceiling for Celtic in the transfer market. They will also be looking to move him on for 25+m in a year or so

    Iheanacho is a concerning link.

It screams of us not being able to reach a deal with Brondby for Kvistgaarden probably over a few million and going into Rodgers contact book for someone he's managed before.

If it happens, got to hope he turns into a clinical striker for the first time in his career at 28. Regardless of the level I've seen a fair amount of him and he's not a great finisher.

This is the problem. The board love the sound of those figures and don't want to make them sound less impressive by forking out that 40m that u mentioned.

They see it as a business and that business is lightyears ahead of rangers in terms of making profit. That's what matters to the board

In order to maintain that dominance though they have to be superior to rangers on the park. Which means investing the profit back into the team. For the Celtic fans, the paying supporters, these figures are meaningless unless we are always beating rangers to every trophy. If that stops, and Celtic still have such a vastly superior bank balance, then the fans will be livid and rightly so
