Good luck to him. Made a decent contribution at the start of last season, just wasn’t right for us.

Olympiacos, transfers: The "red and whites" reach an agreement with Celtic for Palma, who passed the medical and is coming to Greece

It is only a matter of time before Olympiacos acquires Luis Palma, as the 25-year-old winger passed his medical and ergometric tests in London and will be in Greece after midnight to complete his loan from Celtic

The Honduran international passed the necessary medical and ergometric tests in London and, according to information from SPORT24, is expected in Greece after midnight to formally close his acquisition by the Piraeus team. He will then be integrated into the "red and white" training sessions.

It is worth noting that the impending transfer is also confirmed by Celtic, with their coach, Brendan Rodgers, stating in a related question that: "there is a possibility that Palma will leave and we expect him to leave. It will be a loan with an option to buy."

From there, the news that the player is expected in Greece within the next few hours is also confirmed in Honduras. Specifically, Diario El Heraldo writes that Palma is already considered an Olympiacos player and has even requested No. 7 for his jersey. A number certainly with special significance, since it was worn by Kostas Fortounis, the captain who lifted the Conference League.

Moreover, in Honduras they claim that Olympiacos did not act alone in acquiring Palma, as many teams were interested in the former Aris ace, including Panathinaikos, but also clubs such as Atlanta, Orlando, Leganes, Rayo, Genoa, Sunderland, QPR, Stoke and Hannover

In fact, it seems that Palma will immediately be integrated into Olympiacos' training sessions and it is not ruled out that he will be available for the derby with Panathinaikos, in the cup, on Wednesday, February 5, in order to make his debut.

In the past, Palma has played for Real Monarchs (13 appearances - 1 goal), CDS Vida (70 appearances - 23 goals) and Aris (52 appearances - 17 goals, 11 assists), who sold him to Celtic for 4,750,000 euros in the summer of 2023.

This season, Palma has played in 11 matches with the Scottish team, while in total, in the 1.5 years he has worn their jersey, he has 10 goals and the same number of assists in 47 matches.

Technically excellent, nice delivery and shot too.
Sadly also slow, indecisive and poor work ethic.

Splice Palma and Yang together and you might have a good player....

    Best of luck Luis

Fair enough basically we break even on Palma so nothing to Aris but at least we break if Palma does well and they decide to buy him which hopefully is what ends up happening. I wish him nothing but the best. A decent player who had some good moments in the hoops but just was not suited to how Rodgers wanted to play. Some players could have take the huff but he behaved as a pro and I can tell you from personal experience having met him he is a class act so I hope this move works out great for him.

The fact I’ve not seen any fee mentioned feels like we’ve just accepted anything to get him out the door.

The full Palma situation * confuses me, feels like there’s definitely more to it, it’s like the way a disruptive players treated. But we’ve seen him play sometimes, took away for a friendly worked like * scored a hat-trick, wasn’t completely bombed out but mostly was.

I can’t get a read on it at all.

Edit: my bad, £4m is mentioned the tweet in Greek, break even then.

Weird still but I like the guy, he’ll go on to do well over there. Hope we stuck a sell on as well.

Ironically I think a Tierney style winger would have worked a lot more of his style.

Needs runners off him as he’s barely a winger, kind of guy that would have been a 10 when it was the in thing.

I think he’s got quality just not right for us, i always say if you wanted a ball needing struck from outside the boxer I’d be wanting it to fall to Palma.

Gope he does well, seems w nice guy and always positive.

Nothing against him personally but good riddance. Similar to when Turnbull left.. players like that pair will just hold us back.
