Without making any comment on that particular crowd or game (it was before I was born) I don't think anyone is making an argument that arseholes didn't exist in 1982.

In fact I am sure most people in the 80s thought hooligans involved in pitch battles in the 80s were arseholes.

 

Different times mate. We're now facing fans being locked out of games because of flares...I'm no a fan of them but I accept plenty people are.

Personal opinion is invalid at this point, it simply has to stop. At least in European competition.

The only issue in front of us tge now is fans getting banned from games because of pyro. We really need to step up and try and solve the problem, just backing the groups regardless is not goanny cut it.

Am glad to hear that, I didn’t really know that was the case. Would like to see them release a statement asking for folk to do the same, as they'll be affected by it along with everyone else.

Really don't get the continued use of pyro by fans of any club, not just ours.

Personally don't think they add to the match day experience. Been nearby numerous times when they have been let off and 2 biggest things are the make it difficult to see the game and they * stink.

We've also seen a semi final delayed by 15 mins due to impact they have on Var.

We've also seen, stories of people being injured by them, also worth considering impact they have on elderly fans with health conditions and young fans.

I honestly don't know what they bring to a game and what the fascination with them is.

 

Not allowed sparklers on bonfire night by the parents, so they decided once they got hair on it, they would show they were real big bhoys . Summit lyke that….

It's not an isolated incident.

The punishment is just the culmination of a long line of offences. Whoever lit the flair is a * but he's just the latest in a long line of fannies.

So it's a bit poor to pile in on this guy without shaming all the others too
