I couldn't tell you a single other Sheffield Wednesday player apart from the obvious superstars (DiCanio, Walker and Waddle) and Simon Donelly. I most likely only recognised Loovens as a former Celtic player when I thought that about him being more attractive than I had previously thought and probably learned he was a Sheffield Wednesday player a few minutes later (to be honest, I can't really remember ha ha). Doesn't that count?

Celtic need to disperse the green brigade through rest of stadium and/or remove season tickets.

Over several years they continue to bring shame, fines and now most likely a ban to our club and it's supporters - especially in Europe.
The songs at Villa were so, so poor - an embarrassment to us all, more so given those attending.
Our football club is also not a political or terrorist supporting organisation.

Not an embarrassment to us all, just because you disagree with something doesn’t make it wrong I’m afraid.

Football is and always will be a place where people express politics wether you are offended or otherwise.

As much as I hate the royal family singing Lizzie's in a box whether her son's there or not is childish and beneath us.

    None. That's the whole point.
Some of our fans seem to though.

I am proud of being Scottish & am as big a Celtic Fan as anyone else but have all my respect that our club has Irish roots & enjoy some of the Irish Folklore tunes but singing IRA songs throughout Birmingham just after the 50th Anniversary of the Pub Bombings & Lizzies in a box when her Grandchild was in attendance at the game does not sit right. Our club is supposedly open to all & a family friendly club but we have a fan base who glorify a terrorist group & hold on to the past. Their was a number of Irish Villa Fans in attendance & even they were ashamed.

People seem to be reluctant to make the obvious distinction between an institution and its members. Singing to someone about their grandmother being dead seems needlessly hurtful and doesn't seem to be a very effective way to make any particular political point about the monarchy.

However, they have every right to sing it if they really want. I might personally wish they wouldn't; but talk of dispersal and removing season tickets because some of us don't like it is disturbing.

It might seem easy in principle to come down hard on the pointlessly nasty while allowing the legitimately political stuff to flourish; but in practice, it isn't. Not only is there a huge grey area that's a bit of both (For example, chanting "If you hate the royal family, clap your hands." during the forced minute's applause when the Queen died.), but there are also plenty of interests that would use the ambiguity to push the line and supress political expression at football matches.

Theirs a massive difference of singing Irish Freedom Songs to a bunch of fans in Balaclavas running around Birmingham chanting 'IRA', as for Lizzies in a box singing about anyone dead relatives at a football game is completely irrelevant.

What about this for being controversial due to the teams success from 2001 to now there are people who support the team that if born in the 80s would have supported them instead

At first read, it sounds controversial, but really it's not.

If the Lions didn't have their success, maybe my Dad wouldn't have been exposed to Celtic as much and start following the hoops. He's the only Tim in his generation of my family.

Might sound surprising coming from a guy who's spent the last decade playing gigs around Glasgow doing Irish rebel music, but I actually kinda agree that some of them should be nowhere near Celtic Park.

Personal preference would be sing rebel songs that educate and pay homage to Irish history and struggles, bit know where to draw the line. Songs like The Sam Song...one of the best rebel songs there is...doesn't belong at the football, best left to the pubs and clubs.

Sadly there are too many half wits who don't have the mental capacity to distinguish between Irish songs that are relevant to Celtic football club...and ones that are indulgent, good for a bit of venting and offensive to Celtic fans that want nothing to do with it.

This is pretty much my view on it too.

But I do find it difficult to draw a line, there are probably a good few tunes on the borderline.
