It might come down to that. We sign nobody and go with Kenny and Cummings.

 

Why would this be a consideration ?

Unless you're a frequent watcher of the Scandinavian leagues, the vast majority of us wouldn't have watched a target like Kvistgaarden or Ørjasæter .. entire point of having a decent scouting network especially with our limited funds.

The club has scouted him for 18 months, they're well aware of his abilities.. whether we as supporters know much about him means * all.

 

Well why wait 18 months to get him could have got him before Idah? That’s a bit of red flag for me scouting him for 2 years nearly and not signed him yet.

 

Never said this before but i’d not be overly annoyed if we tell them to * off asking way over the odds just because we are cash rich. The board for once are clearly trying to push that 6-10m bracket while we are strong.

I didn’t say don’t spend on him I said don’t overpay for him and think 13 million is rather steep for a player that’s not in a supposed top 5 league and who is still developing.

I get a lot of what you’re saying mate and agree with it. My post was more of we knew Kyogo wanted away in the summer why didn’t we pull the trigger then to get him in succession planning like we did with Sinasalo. That would have scouting him for a year and if he was our main target why not go get him then?

 

Don't even think we should bother with loans mate just go with what we have

 

I have a feeling we'll fail with Kvistgaarden and get the Norwegian winger in and have Maeda covering Idah.

 

As long as we get Ørjasæter over the line, which frees up Maeda to play up top when needed, then I’m inclined to agree with you. Idah, Maeda, Kenny and Cummings should be plenty, if we’re unable to add real quality.

That said, Brendan has been so vocal about wanting a striker in that it’ll look terrible if we don’t add one. I’d rather have a loan striker than be landed with an Ajeti, Klimala type burden.

Further talks on this one yet though. Next few days will be a rollercoaster.

 

He seems like the one we want and have tracked him for a couple of years.

No excuses not to get this done. If they want £14m, pay £9m with add ons.
