Mixed emotions about the return of this lad.

I just know he’ll be injured half the time

that’s not good business to me

If last night and the upcoming knockout games don’t convince us to chuck a few million to get him in early doesnt then nothing will. He’d have made such a difference last night and will in the knockouts. Fair enough he’ll be on a decent wage and they maybe want to shift someone off the books first but the money we got for Lawal would probably cover the cost of getting him in early.

Don't think it's that. If arsenal think they'll need him, money is no object and they won't let him go.

They’ve got at least 3 players who’d play in front of him not including Zinchenko (who will likely go) Tomiyasu or Kiwior. They’re absolutely stacked there. Of course financially his wages are a drop in the ocean to them so they could quite easily pay him to sit in the stands but it would be pointless for them especially given he’s agreed a move to another club.

If the manager (a dirty hun) deems he needs him to sit in the stands, then that's what will happen. Even if we offer all wages. That's the power arsenal have for the last 6 months. We're not forcing a move from a championship team, it's a team who is essentially in a real title race.

Hopefully we get him, but I see there dirty hun manager refusing it, just to spite us and sit him on the bench.

I don’t think it makes that much of a difference, to be honest.

Tierney, Jota, CCV and Kyogo could all have played that game and we would still have lost. They’re another level and there isn’t anything wrong with that.

I've defended Taylor on here many times, mainly because I think his attitude is spot on, and he's just an honest player, but he is clearly not at the level we need.
We should be doing all we can to get Tierney in before the window closes.

More than likely not but adding another proven CL quality level player isn’t going to harm us either. If we just accept other teams are better than us (which they are) then what’s the point. KT would make a * huge difference to us, especially in games where we’re playing against a level of opposition who are just better all over the park.

I would be amazed if Arteta even gave it a second thought the fact he was at the Huns for a couple seasons 20 odd year ago when they were throwing money about that would rival some of top teams in the Premiership at the time :giggle1:

If they refuse to allow their 4th choice left back who’s gone at the end of the season anyway to go then so be it but them keeping him for 6 months will have absolutely no bearing on them winning the league or not. Without injuries he won’t even get on their bench more than likely so despite it not even scratching the surface of their accounts, paying a guy 100k+ a week for 6 months to turn up to training just seems incredibly stupid.

I’ve got no doubt Rodgers and the club will be doing all they can to make it happen now so that’s good enough for me.

I think if Tierney tried to force it through he would be here this window but that's not the type of person he is.

Hopefully the clubs come to an agreement

Who knows? Atalanta are also on another level to us. Probably a similar level to Villa IMO.

Let’s be honest, Atalanta should have beaten us. They missed some big chances. We got a bit of luck and Atalanta had a bit of an off night. It went in our favour. We still performed admirably in Atalanta. I actually think we played better last night than we did in Italy. We had absolutely zero threat in Italy whereas I thought we looked dangerous when we did get into positions last night.

I actually agree with this, but disagree with your first comment.

CCV instead of Scales and we don’t make as many mistakes at the back (3 of their goals came from poor defending). Maeda in this sort of game would be huge, there was so much transition moments that he would thrive in, but Yang was absolutely invisible or useless

It was Scales and Trusty in Atalanta. Who were both outstanding btw.

Not coming this month. Arsenal blocked the move. According to the Telegraph
