    £10m is fair.

    With add ons.

It's no a market in Turkey.

They want what they want. They hold the cards as they know we need a striker and no doubt the boy will leave for big money to someone.

I doubt they will get 14 but I reckon it will be 10mil + add ons at a minimum

If they're happy with £14m then they're happy for him to leave, so there is room for negotiation you would imagine.

If we are actually interested (hope we are) and they’re at “£14m” then I’m pretty confident we’ll get it done

The exact same happened with Engels in the Summer with Augsburg wanting that fee

We just sold a 30 y/o striker for £10m, so signing a 22 y/o with ability and lots of potential for £12m or so should be absolutely fine

See in some ways mate it isn’t that dissimilar to a market in Turkey.

They have a player who is now publicly making it known he is keen to move on, who will have representatives that are looking after his interests.

If he fancies the move to us and feels Brondby are being unreasonable with their pricing off him, then they may say you are pricing our player out of a move that for argument sakes triples his wages. We want a bump to stay. Now his club have him under contract so they can say no but then risk having an unhappy player and their £14m asset maybe doesn’t perform the second half of the season and he is worth less than what’s on offer just now.

Or they turn down a good offer from us and he gets injured the second half of the season and again his value diminishes

No club really wants to sell their top players, yet there are moves like this every window.

In addition, the other reportedly interested clubs may be in a chain for example Leipzig interest is probably dependent on Šeško moving on. If he does then £13-14m will be a snip to them. Likewise Frankfurt just sold the boy to Man City for big money but have went out and signed Wahi, so are they actually looking for another striker on top of him?

There are so many moving parts you can see why transfers are complicated.

According to google, he his contract is until summer 2027. Brondby are doing what we do and trying to get the max value possible at the right time to do it. If he were to stay with them beyond the summer, then there's a chance they may not get the best value from selling him.

Of course the club say a big fee but wee know that's not how simple it is.
    I can see £10mil plus add-ons% etc

Yes he's a real bulldog of a player with a 4 leaf clover tattoo so for me he's great. Not sure about £14 million though

We paid £11m to replace O’Riley. We can certainly pay £12-14m to replace Kyogo. That’s regardless of fees received for those players; we have to think about what these signings are actually worth to us - primarily on the pitch, but also in future sales revenue.

If a deal ends up getting done I would say your probably right it would end up being more like what your suggesting there a lower up front fee but a sell on clause on further profits from a sale.

He’s not the only striker in the world, and it’s not like we don’t have options in our squad. I think their position is weaker than you think. They need the money and have no European football to offer him, or to help him boost his reputation and value further - that’s before we talk about how they will unsettle him by demanding £14m.

I think the money Celtic have made and spent recently has went to people’s heads. We need to calm down a bit.

£8m for an uncapped 22 year old that’s only played in the Danish league and has no European experience (of note) is a very fair offer.

If they get what they want then fair play.

They've been playing hard ball every time we've went in for him as far as I can remember. There will be clubs that just fling money at players without batting an eyelid but am glad we're not one of them.

As much ss I like the boy and want him in, 14 mil is taking the *. Now at the stage where I'd offer them what we're prepared to pay and if it's rejected, so be it. We move on.

£6-8M absolute tops for this guy, but regardless of the fee the next striker we sign will be Kyogo replacement.
I'd only take him if it was in addition to new top drawer striker.

We can and should be pitching higher for main striker.
£14M can buy a helluva lot better too.

Can it though? £14m these days doesn’t buy you a quality proven striker at a good age for developing and eventually selling on.

With all due respect to Kyogo, we’ve just sold a 30 year old striker who hasn’t exactly been in great form for the last 18 months for just over £10m (and most think we could have got more). Yes, he’s played CL, but hardly been prolific at that level.

Kvistgaarden is a 22 year old who seems to only be getting better and better, on the verge of international recognition, with room for improvement and potentially big resale value.

When you weigh up the two, is £14m that mental?

(For what it’s worth, I don’t think we’re paying anywhere close to that for him. At least not up front.)

I would agree we should spend good money, but we should also pay fair value.

I would say yes. I think as a support we’re losing the plot. People are laughing at an £8m valuation for a player that hasn’t played in Europe and plays in the Danish league as if it’s a derisory £2.5m bid.

I’ve wanted him here since he was first linked last year (or before) but people are getting carried away.
