Although he's a * literally anyone ive spoken to has said trump Aberdeen is the best course they've ever played.

It's my 30th in October I'm gonna try and get a good round sorted somewhere. My mate is a member at Dalmahoy outskirts of Edinburgh thats the nicest one I've played regularly so far other than up at St Andies, Strathtyrum.

Meet up would be good craic at some point. Thats a big reason I'm enjoying it, helps for my mental health big time. Never thought I'd set an alarm for half 6 on a Saturday morning to go and play golf! But I've nae qualms about it.

started playing ages 10 at hamilton 9 hole, living in leeds since aged 18 i've played a few courses round here but due to health i'm now restricted to courses with buggies, people i played with treated it as a nice walk in country with whisky coffee in flasks and a nice smoke with added incentive of beating your friends, great game

Not long teed off down my local. Poor start with bogey, double, double thru 3. Will let yous know how I go...

It's bogeys galore folks, just the one par. Joined with an old retired fella, can't make out if he hates me or he's just a bit reserved. Up the * of a 4 ball who won't let us through. Great day for it but. Just on hole 13.

They four in front cleared of so it's alright now. Just had a mare there another fight bogey on an easy hole.

Poor round by my recent standards but double bogey the worst score on the card when playing bad in winter conditions is a win in my book. 20 over par in the end.

I kept saying that he's a piece of * but bhoy can build a golf course,
If you can get up there you won't regret it,
Dalmahoy was nice I had a weekend stay there with some golf buddys the staff really looked after us and weather was superb too cracking weekend, iv played a few big courses some of them are out my price range for single round these days, £500 for a bucket list course is a joke,
100% agree with the mental side it does wonders so many people I speak to bring that up and some of the older guys when they can't play has a negative effect on then,
the things you'll do for something when your into it, I drove from Glasgow to machrihanish played a round and drove home, over 7 hour round trip for 4 hours of golf

Thats no too bad. You did indeed pick a good day for it, another month or so and the after work rounds are back.

Laughed at "can't tell if he hates me or if he's just reserved" :56:

Some of the prices are ridiculous. But from watching videos apparently in the USA it's still quite difficult for your everyday person like you or I to hold a golf membership. Think it can still be quite upper class whereas it seems more accessible now in the UK. Maybe picking it up wrong, mind! But whenever I watch the US guys playing they never seem to just be playing yer local 18 holes thats maybe 600-800 a year

What did you make of Machrihanish?

The mental side is interesting though isn't it. You're out for 4hrs in silence a lot of the time though, maybe having a chat with your mates and it's normally always a nice setting. Feel like I can just completely switch off.

    Good point.

Here in West lothian if you have a gym/leisure membership you get free access to all council run golf courses. A couple of them are proper decent.

Had a coffee with him after so clearly didn't hate me but hard to read kinda bloke. Funnily enough the reason he was playing on his own was cause he said his mates have ditched him for being a moody * - story checks out :giggle1:

    Just can't get enough
Prices here are more for the overseas golfers some of the deals they get are outstanding I think the r&a have a link with the PGA and trade tee times if your some type of member, not 100% but read something in bunkered magazine about it
Machy was great stunning opening hole I played the championship course but going to get up play the dunes this summer but I'll stay up at that way for the night
Just getting out is great for all that and the golf breaks up the boredom of just walking around and keeps your mind focused, personally playing golf has done wonders for me and I can't recommend it enough
