This is not the case and Brendan himself said we're actively pursuing a new striker. He does not play there for Japan either, hasn't done in a few years. Japan have 3 strikers in the squad ahead of Maeda. Maeda plays on the left or left wing back for Japan these days but most of the time he's on the bench, same as Hatate. This Maeda through the middle chat is fantasy and won't happen unless there's no one else fit and available. Jota will be weeks away from being able to start, Daizen will be out left for the foreseeable.

I don't think it will be long before Jota starts. He will be playing soon as he has been training until now and playing matches up until late December. I think he plays as a sub the next 2 league games then starts in the cup.

 

Both Palma and Nawrocki look like they’ll be gone soon, so Jota will have the choice between the legendary 7 or his own 17.

 

This was all part of the plan. We sell him for £25 million, he gets big Saudi wages and then 18 months later he comes home for a steal

 

There is no guarantee that because we are actively searching for another striker we will get one. Now I think we will but it doesn't always happen. Maeda through the middle is a possibility of course it is.

Sure Palma will grin and bear it. Loves a grin. It's aw he does.

 

But of perspective required here. Domestically he's gonna get the guts of 7/8 months including a pre season to get you to speed. Few more additions and we could be absolutely flying come start of next season

I remember being this optimistic and excited when wee Shaun Maloney came back from England. He did no bad. Not as good as his first spell though.
Emilio Izaguirre came back aswell mind that. He was past it by that point though

It's a risk if the player has done exceptionally well in their first period with the club.
A whole reputation and legacy will either be enhanced or tarnished.
