You’re right we need a striker but Maeda can’t be dropped! I think Maeda will be sold in the summer so we might sign someone in for forward thinking….but if not definitely in the summer. I think he’ll get jota and that Norwegian winger we’re in for still

Benfica said they retained 30% rights on him, which is another way of saying they get 30% of a transfer fee, not just the profit. In effect we made approx £11m profit on him up until now.

While it may not look great if we spend almost all of that profit to get him back again it still means that if/when we sell him again that fee will be almost entirely profit, minus the rennes sell on.

He will need to be rotated now and again though.

Part of the reason we have fell off a bit in our intensity has been the number of games Maeda and Kuhn have been relied upon this year as there's nothing behind them really that we want in there. Forrest was a good player but now has to be a stop gap.

You look to our bench on Wednesday it wasn't really full of attacking game changers. We need a couple quality options.

Absolutely fine about the percentage of next sale. Because he’s never * leaving this club again.

Sky reporting delay due the weather in Jota travelling to Glasgow - but certainly seems to be 100% on.
    Welcome back!

    This.

    Kuhn 16 goals, 12 assists
    Maeda 15 goals, 7 assists

    Forrest 0 goals, 5 assists
    Yang 1 goal, 0 assists
    Palma 0 & 0.

That tells you everything anyone needs to know. Sometimes stats don't tell the full story, but it's pretty * compelling evidence in this instance.

The one I really don't get is the massive drop off in Palma from last season, really contributed with both goals and assists and yet, nothing this season at all. I get that defenders have clocked how to deal with him, and he hasnt featured anywhere near as much as he did last season, but the drop off from Kuhn & Maeda to the other options is astounding. You'd think by this stage he'd have fluked at least one assist or goal by now.

Moving Maeda central and Jota to come in on the LW is plausable though in theory, but hope there is more strengthening to be done as well.

The thing that could work as well is Jota and Maeda interchanging with KT playing the high fullback, could be quite the partnership.

    Fully agree.

Think with Palma it's due to a lack of a run in the team. He'd easily.contribute more than Yang if given the chance, even if he doesn't suit us that much.

Even when on the park for 10 mins he normally ends up creating something.

Rennes winger Jota was due to fly to Glasgow last night ahead his proposed move to Celtic but has been delayed by Storm Eowyn.

A red weather warning has been issued by the Met Office for the central belt of Scotland, with most transport links shut down today.

It’s understood Jota, who has been training in Portugal, is now expected to travel to Glasgow over the weekend to finalise terms and paperwork.

Sky Sports News revealed yesterday that an £8m deal to bring the 25-year-old back to Celtic was close.

We’ve asked Daizen to take a wee jog down and pick him up. Due back shortly.
