We better be signing Kvitsgaarden or someone similar. Kyogo out, Jota, Tierney and Kvitsgaarden in seems like a great window on the face of it.

Still voted no in the poll. How could anyone be happy to see him leave. I do think he’s not been as effective this season though and I get why we’re moving him on. Goodbye our wee Kyogo. My girlfriend is gutted

So many great qualities. He also seemed like such a good dude: intense competitor, quirky, played w/joy, and always so respectful to opponents. It just felt good rooting for him. The anti-Morelos.

Even though I know it's right for business, I'll be gutted to see him on his way.

 

I’ll raise you Maeda’s goal in the League Cup final. Nothing wrong with his touch and finishing that time.

 

We sold him for £25m and are getting him back for £9m - a £16m difference. Rennes only got him cheaper because he wanted out of Saudi. It's excellent business.

 

In our current style under BR though, how many runs does he make with no pass, how often does he get crowded out? It doesn’t suit him, what he’s done under Rodgers is his down to his quality not down to us getting the best out of him.


He’s picked a good time to look for a move, and the deal we have got, the fans are happy as well. And it’s been triggered after making it through CL into next stage.

He’ll be remembered here very fondly. Other strikers we’ve loved after Henrik didn’t manage to leave in that style, Hooper, Dembele, Eddy were all resented leaving. Kyogo though? Class act.

 

He will regret leaving when we win the CL this season.

i can’t think of a way we’ve been fleeced. Jota is 25, Kyogo 30. I can’t think of any other situation a 30 year old, who’s best form here was 2 years ago could be traded for a player that has been sold 2 years ago when he was at his best for £30m.

Add in the fact, we got that profit for the player. How * quality that player is… fleeced is madness.

 

Very poor from club selling our main striker without having replacement in door first.

Up there with them, and it’s small margins but Dembele, Eddy, Hooper and definitely Kyogo as well, between them it’s close for that title.


Tbh the standout, but * team and short lived time here the absolute best striker since Henrik is Robbie Keane.


And that’s without taking Sutton and Hartson into it, who were here after Henke.

 

Were trading out first choice striker out for a player that's scored 6 and assisted 2 in 35 games in the last 2 years. A player who didn't even get registered to play in his first season after being signed for 25 million. Who was bought for 8 million then bombed out to be sold 6 months later. And if the numbers that Romano mentioned are true then Rennes are getting the better deal financially, despite it being reported that that would be looking for 6 million odd before.

I loved Jota before don't get me wrong. But would you be excited about signing him if you take away his previous at us? No, you wouldn't be. He'll likely take time to get back to fitness and to find form, in to provide competition in the positions where our 2 heat performers are this season (which is good we need that as we lack the depth in the wings.) I would be excited if he was coming back and we were not losing out best striker (who had a brilliant link with Jota previously)
