Not if the alternative at LW is Palma. If we suddenly have Jota, that's a different story. Chances are Jota will be starting at LW. Kuhn is a lock at RW. Highly doubt Maeda gets benched. The way I see it, we either change to 3-4-3 with Maeda at LM or we start him through the middle in the front 3.

    Sky Sports News
understands Kyogo has arrived in France ahead of his move to Rennes, with the Japan international set to undergo a medical and finalise personal terms

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Rennes boss Jorge Sampaoli said of the Kyogo move: "We hope that the deal will be completed today for Kyogo - and if it is the case - he could have minutes at Monaco.

He is a player that we wanted ardently and who can bring us depth

Kyogo has been a key player for the Hoops since arriving in Scotland in the summer of 2021 under Ange Postecoglou.

However, his form for Celtic has not always been recognised by Japan boss Hajime Moriyasu, who has previously criticised the Scottish league

It's believed Kyogo would welcome the chance to join a club in one of Europe's top five leagues, despite Celtic's progression to the Champions League knockouts.

The 30-year-old, who had three goals disallowed against Young Boys on Wednesday night, has netted 85 times for the Hoops in all competitions

Sad to see him go but that fee at his age with Jota coming in, and I assume another striker, will likely prove to be excellent business.

That’s my thinking. And even though jota is reportedly comin back, and maeda might go through the middle, we still NEED a striker.

Without a doubt he was a class act for us. So many great memories he gave us. Wish him nothing but the best.

Why are people desperate for Maeda to be moved in one.

That's a lawwell move. Get a striker signed!

If we move Maeda in it means needing another left winger.

Has this Anthony Joseph * ever put out anything of his own?

He's made a career out of copying and pasting other *'s articles...

Certainly it has to be said the 12m euro fee at his age is good business and if we complete the deal for Jota at 8m euro that would be us still pocketing 4m euro and effectively swapping players. It would however though move the question mark from badly needing a new winger to now badly needing a new 9. I just hope that we know what we are doing at this stage when it comes to getting in a new striker.

I literally said he was 25 in the post you quoted. In a way, we are paying for potential: the potential to be the player he hasn't shown for a year and a half but we know he can be. The potential to be even better even with Rodgers' coaching.

You said it yourself we've had poor depth on the left wing so that's exactly why we're shipping out Palma. Rodgers will want 2 players for each position. So it will be Daizen/Jota on the left. Kuhn/Yang on the right (until Forrest is fit) and Idah/New striker competing up front. There is not a chance we'll see Daizen start a run of games as our main striker.

Surely get another right winger in the summer.

Yang isn't the answer and Forrest should be a 5th choice to fill in either side.

Apart from a couple of games at the start, he never played centrally under Ange, and we had plenty of quality on the wings then. Can't see Maeda as centre forward unless absolutely necessary.
