Same, I wonder if Rennes are going to pay him off with like €5million of the money we're giving them as part of the deal as it must be going to cost him £millions in tax to come back the now when he could have just waited till the summer.

A similar deal will probably need to be done for Tierney, like we give Arsenal £3million and they use it to pay him off for him to leave since he'd be walking away from about £2-3million extra to come here.

 

Maybe underwhelming is the wrong word. I'm buzzing to have him back, but I'm not entirely confident it's the right thing to do.

I don’t think that it’s not that he’s not rated , manager prefers to play with two inside forwards on either side of the striker rather than a winger , so Kyogo will play wide left

 

Celtic are close to agreeing a deal for Rennes winger Jota.

Sky Sports News understands negotiations on a deal worth £8m has reached advanced stages, with the player keen to return to Glasgow.

Celtic sold Jota to Al Ittihad in 2023 for a then-record £25m.

He has been frozen out at Rennes, since joining last summer.

Celtic and Rennes have been doing plenty of business this week, with Kyogo Furuhashi set to join the Ligue 1 club for £10m

 

Bit different with the Tierney one as we could just loan him until the end of the season and pay a percentage (or all) of his wages. We wouldn't necessarily need to buy him out of his contract.

So maybe 6ish with add ons and a sell on and then 10mill going the other way for kyogo.. some business considering what we sold him for. Think he could suit the Rodgers system more than anges

This is a brilliant signing on paper if it happens.
I have the same reservations I have when an Edouard return is mentioned and hope that he hasn't regressed since leaving us.
Hopefully can rediscover his form with us.
Like when we signed Scott Sinclair.

 

And very importantly as well, Kaspar signing up for another season

 

Wonder if the 8m is based on the fact that Rennes have agreed to paying any tax bill he may face?

That would put him at about 3-4m evaluation.
