Ange was the epitome of ''not messing about''. Let Rogic and Bitton walk for nothing cause they didn't fit his style of play. Had all his transfer business sorted out before even the 2023 winter window had started. Sold Jura and GG as soon as they expressed the desire to leave for bigger salary.

Not sure what BR has done in the transfer market to deserve that level of trust.

 

Giakoumakis wanted to leave due to money and weather.. kyogo also appears to have wanted to go and it also appears their was an agreement in place that he could go once we were qualified and a certain valuation met. The time is right.

Can't see a replacement being an improvement or any better than Kyogo, it is suicide that We are letting him go when there are CL playoff and a Treble still to play for, * are Rodgers and The Board thinking?

 

He wants to go and his finishing in general hasn't been great this season..

It's the correct decision, providing his replacement is up to scratch.

 

Celtic striker Kyogo Furuhashi has flown out to France as he closes in on a move to Ligue 1 side Rennes, sources have told Football Insider.

He is now due to hold talks and undergo a medical ahead of an expected departure during the January transfer window

The Japan international has been a key player and popular figure for the Scottish giants ever since joining the club from Vissel Kobe in his home country back in the summer of 2021.

Now however the 30-year-old is edging closer to sealing his departure from Parkhead, with the wheels in motion for him to complete a move to France.


It was claimed on Wednesday (22 January) that Rennes are hopeful of completing the signing of Furuhashi from Celtic for £10million (Sky Sports).

Football Insider now understands that the striker has indeed travelled to France to hold talks over a deal and undergo a medical with Jorge Sampaoli’s side.


As a result, a move away from Glasgow is now understood to be inching ever closer for the 30-year-old.

In total, Furuhashi has scored 85 goals and provided 19 assists in 165 appearances in all competitions for the reigning champions (Transfermarkt).

His exit will therefore be a blow for Brendan Rodgers’ side, who sit top of the Scottish Premiership and have guaranteed themselves a place in the Champions League knockout play-offs for this season.

Rennes meanwhile are currently 14th in the Ligue 1 table, four points clear of the automatic relegation places, but only outside a play-off spot on goal difference

We need a quality forward in now as Idah is not the man to fill Kyogo boots.

 

Gutted he’s away but that’s the way it goes.

Cracking player for us, so many big goals and so great to watch. He was exactly the player we needed too when he came in.

 

Selling kyogo in the middle of the season is insane especially with no replacement in sight

Think he's the best striker we've had since Larsson.

Glad he spent a solid 3.5 seasons here, wish it was a little longer. But thank you Kyogo and please, would love to see him come back in the stands at some point.
