We need to hurry up, if he's the man Rodgers wants.

We can certainly afford him, especially with Kyogo leaving for 10m. Bad optics to sell our #1 striker midway through the season. I expect us to spend big on the replacement. Maybe not 13m big, but you never know.

That's the date of the first thread for this boy.

In that time we've had more than enough opportunity to buy him at probably vastly reduced sum. It's our fault for * around he's now worth so much.

Kyogo chat to Rennes picked up yesterday and it's almost done.

We've been mentioned for this boy for 2 * years nearly and still dragging our heels.

Now I'm not daft enough to think the Kyogo thing hasn't been on in the background maybe a week or 2 but just a bit of a comparison on how some teams operate with transfers.

5 million for berny and 10 million for kyogo. Throw in a 10million bid for him and 5 for jota and we're laughing and no spent a penny.

This comparison supports my point though. There’s a big gap between failed Europa Conference qualifier and UCL goals.

Kvistgaarden has two qualifying matches in the third round (not even playoff) of the Conference league. For comparison, St. Mirren and Kilmarnock players have that.

Edouard had seasons under his belt of the Europa League proper, including goals and assists, for a team that topped their group.

If Kvistgaarden had Edouards EL experience £13.5m would be much more reasonable.

I enjoy it because it’s a big part of the meta of the game.

To me it’s important not to overpay for players just because we have money. That’s a bad road to go down.

I think we can be more risk averse when we have more money but this one goes into the category of needlessly outright overpaying by a significant amount (if we went for it).

Don't think we could ever accuse the board of not being risk averse..

The reality is they won't be getting £13.5m. That's why we will negotiate with them down.

He's played 110 games for Brondby, he's scored 38 goals and had 15 assists, mostly from the wing. He's only 22 years old and has shown a consistent level of performance for a very good Danish team. If the price is anywhere near £10m, I'd be taking it.

Never thought I’d see the day :56:

But yeah, to me a signing like Engels is about the right value but a bit more risky so it’s a good example of taking some risk.

Idah was an example of overpaying, probably because we were desperate with our situation, but sometimes it has to be done.

To me £10m still seems too high but I do really like him.

I'd be willing to stick my neck out and say this will get done. No danger we'd be letting Kyogo go if it wasn't the case.

    Need a concrete source tonight.

Would be more confident if something came out of Denmark or ofcourse that * Romano.

So far it does seem like our press putting 2+2 together.

He hasn't been linked once, people are just getting complaints out the way in case we sign an actual striker and they have nothing to moan about.

At least wait lads, there might be a perfectly legitimate reason in a week or so without making scenarios up :56:
