Will be with a heavy heart to see kyogo but the timing is roughly right to be honest, though I'd prefer the move to come about in the summer window.

We all love that man but when you break it down to the facts it just makes sense. A 30 year old who has given his best years to us, perhaps isn't at his best under Rodgers gameplan, might even be showing a bit of decline. Cashing out now makes sense but only if his contribution is replaced. If it can't be replaced right now then dig in and keep him until the summer I say

Agree with this. Feels a lot like the Juranovic move, kinda stings but it's how we operate and it's getting towards time. Only thing with JJ was we had a ready replacement in AJ coming in the door, and having a replacement who can slot straight in like that is essential to this model. Player trading, not just asset stripping

We have to maximise the resell value I’m afraid. I think he is a great player but we’d be lucky to get half the quoted fee in the summer. Buy another striker and give him 6 months to settle in before the qualifiers. Unfortunately it does seem to make both business and football sense. Also maybe the wee man has asked away.

We don't need to make a good profit on every player ffs.

If he wants to go, we should allow him to look for a club in the summer. Too much of a risk to replace him in January.

And that i can see being his main reason he will want a World Cup i have no doubt failure to make the 2022 one effected him even though he put a brave face on it

Maeda is in that Japan team consistently it’s not who he plays for and more that the international manager doesn’t fancy him for his system him moving might not make a difference

    * *, people debating if Jota is as good as he was before - Edouard hasn't kicked a ball for 3 seasons man. Some dropoff of work rate from Kyogo to him.

    No thanks.

Much rather he stays and sees out the contract.

But can't hold it against him if he wants to move on.

Just get someone else in Celtic.
Idah never was and certainly isn't the answer to Kyogo leaving.

It's probably right that he moves on if stories in the media are to be believed. Wants to move to a top 5 league which will enhance his chances at International level, while also earning more money from a decent sized contract. Lovely place to stay as well. £10m for a 30 year old striker who maybe hasn't shown the form he did under a previous manager is probably quite good business in isolation. Club obviously needs to make it a top priority in bringing in a replacement as soon as possible and surely we will ask the question about Kvistgaarden.

Kyogo and Bernabei out the door for £15m.
KT, Jota and Kvistgaarden in the door for £16m.

Would be some bit of business by the club.

We’ll seriously regret selling him this window.

If we can replace him with an up and coming striker on the cusp of the Danish national side for roughly the same price we get for him going out the door it makes sense.

If we could get both in and then get £10m in the summer, unreal.

But now might be our only chance to get the replacement we want. Have a feeling its now or never for Kvistgaarden snd it may be the same for other targets we have. That, combining with Kyogo maybe wanting the move will force numerous hands.

I think the guy’s great. Would be gutted if he ever left. With the recent chat though I’m almost at the bargaining stage of hoping he’s still here for the weekend so we can say goodbye.

For me he’s got the best off the ball movement since Keane.

(Just watched that to remind myself. It’s funny how far off their line the goalies were for his pens).

Actually in a bit of shock about this, thought it was all nonsense really, extremely disappointed to see him leave, been one of my favorite ever strikers to watch, when he changed agent at the start of the season though, that was the red flag, now we're seeing why he done that

I don't think we'll sign a striker, I think we'll go with Maeda as striker now and sign a winger or two, with Maeda, Idah, Kenny and Cummings being the striker options throughout the rest of the season

Think Cummings will leave down south if reports are true
