Championship interest in him. Would be sending him there on a straight loan.

If he bags a few goals down there could easily be looking at making a significant profit on him.

Sunderland would be a good fit I reckon

Celtic winger Luis Palma, 25, is being chased by Sunderland, Stoke City, Swansea City and Queens Park Rangers as well as several European clubs.

    I agree with this

Wouldn't be putting an obligation/option on it.

Good point. Any player who is decent just short of making the grade here I’d always be looking to loan to the English championship.

Really don’t think the standard is that great down there and lot of money floating about the league. Plenty of examples throughout the years.

He is definitely a better player than he appears just now. When he first got in the team he looked fantastic. Was contributing, creating and scoring goals. Then something happened and he has dropped right off a cliff. A loan out to another club would do him good. Agree that lets not set an agreed fee as he should do well in the Championship.

Good points there. I would agree too unless we get someone willing to pay us enough money to make a profit on Palma right now.

Nothing really happened when you think about it, he played fairly well from when he joined until December then after the January break he barely got a game again.

He was frozen out really probably as Rodgers just never liked him but he had no other options until January, Mikey Johnston started playing around December/January, then Abada got a few games when he returned and he signed Kuhn and his game time went way down.

It's not like he went on a poor run of 3/4 games and got dropped. He just started getting very little game time out the blue.

He started 7 League games in December 2023 alone and done fine got 1 goal and 4 assists. Then after December he only started 6 League games since, out of the last 40.

Same as what happened to Oh really, Oh always done fine for us, used to come on scored a decent amount of goals and would work hard for 25-30 minutes when replacing Kyogo. Rodgers it seems just never really liked him, he'd put him on the last 1 or 2 or 3 minutes of games all the time basically snubbing him constantly.

You could say it's a test, like Rodgers wants to see how they react to being blatantly snubbed if they work hard and show the quality and mental abilities to come back and perform and do the business but then they never really got the chance on the park anyway to make a comeback.

Could also be just how Rodgers operates to point out to the board he wants different guys signed, like he just shows blatantly "these guys are not an option to me im not even going to use them" you could say he done that with Haksabanovic, Nawrocki, Lagerbielke right away, Bernabei, Oh, Palma once he had the chance. Might also be the case with that keeper Sinasalo we signed, has been weird how he hasn't played at all - if he doesn't play against Raith Rovers I wouldn't be surprised if he is sold in the summer.

Holm also I forgot was completely frozen out even last season he was playing Kelly instead and even the boy Turley.

Yeah, doesn't explain why Palma has been getting minutes in recent matches if BR dislikes him so much. He def hasn't played as well as when he first came here. Could be a change in the style of play or the training but it's been odd.

PAOK are the latest club to show an interest in Luis Palma as he gets set to leave Celtic.

Jota’s imminent return in a £9million deal will further limit the Honduran’s chances of regular games

Winger Palma came close to joining Spanish side Rayo Vallecano this month in a £2.5m loan-to-buy deal.

That fell through at the last minute, but the Greeks are now in the hunt among a host of clubs interested in the Celtic winger.

Palma, 25, joined Celts from Aris for £3.5m in 2023 and retains a strong profile in Greece.

PAOK have joined Super League rivals Olympiacos and Panathanaikos on his trail

There’s also long-term MLS interest in the Honduras star, while he was recently linked with a move to the English Championship.

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers recently praised Palma’s attitude as he expressed sympathy over his lack of game time.

But he won’t stand in the player’s way if a suitable bid is tabled before the window shuts.

He might be involved against Aston Villa this week, however, with Daizen Maeda suspended and Kyogo Furuhashi expected to have joined Rennes by then.

But Palma looks almost certain to move on this month as Celtic reshape their attacking options

Just don’t see him making it here. Loan will help us shift him.

With Jota signed now I would be very surprised if Palma is still with us when the window closes. Hopefully we can get a decent fee for him and at least recovery our money on him if not make a small profit.

I’d take him going out on loan tbh, he’s got the flashy YouTube highlight cameos in him enough to tempt teams to spend some money on him and whilst he’s no playing here they become a distant memory.

Don't think Rodgers has ever fancied him.

Feel Palma has quite a bit of talent, but wasn’t really suited to either Ange or Rodgers style of play - particularly out of possession.

So much of his stuff nearly came off, but it just wasn’t enough to properly establish a regular first team position over others in this current squad.

Looking forward it seems lots of clubs are interested, and with Johnston doing ok at WBA, I’m sure Palma can also kick on when he departs us.

    He'll do well somewhere else..

Our league is well known for being fast paced and against us, teams are camped in....so for a guy with his lack of speed, it's a nightmare..

I think eventually he'll end up a number 10 in a slower, more open league and his numbers will look good..

We can deffo get a no bad fee for him..

Greek media reporting Olympiacos is signing Palma. They claim it's a done deal. No clarification on whether it's a perm or a loan.

Olympiacos is ready to complete the January transfer puzzle. And as it seems, now entering the right direction? Luis Palma is their chosen one. The 25-year-old ace who is currently on Celtic's mission for the match against Aston Villa in the final leg of the Champions League

Yes, as it seems, Piraeus made their decision after carefully weighing all the data, with the final choice going to José Luis Mendilibar.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Red and Whites had a discussion with Mendilibar and it was agreed that Olympiacos would move and immediately sign Palma, a player for whom the technical staff had initially given the green light

Luis Henrique Palma Oseguera, born on January 17, 2000, began his career at Vida, where he made his professional debut on September 10, 2017, scoring in his first game.

In 2019, he was loaned to Real Monarchs in the United States, where he scored his first goal on 27 July of that year. In January 2022, Palma signed a four-and-a-half-year contract with Aris. He made his debut on 14 February 2022 and scored his first goal on 10 April of that year, contributing to a victory over AEK. In the 2022–2023 season, he emerged as Aris' top scorer with 11 goals in 29 matches.

Luis Palma joined Celtic in the summer of 2023, signing a multi-year contract. In his first season (2023/24), he played in 28 matches in the Scottish championship, scoring 7 goals and providing 9 assists

He also participated in the Champions League, playing in 1 match. In the second season (2024/25), he recorded 8 appearances in the championship without a goal or an assist. At Celtic, he played in a total of 37 matches, scoring 7 goals and sharing 9 assists. His performances made him a target for other European teams, with Rayo Vallecano expressing strong interest in acquiring him in January 2025. But it seems that Olympiacos will make him theirs.

Can't be that close otherwise we would have allowed him to go before kick off as that seemed to be our general approach to tonight's game
