I know I'm always with the pitch fork out for the board sort of guy, but this is peak Celtic here, if he has already signed a contract nearly 3 weeks ago.

What do we actually gain from this, every time as well.
Always delaying announcements as if it's some game we are playing to drop it at an opportune moment.

(Assuming the deal is done as you guys suggest).

Probably still trying to strike a deal with Arsenal on a loan.. and weighing up if its worth paying.. I'd imagine we'd like to announce a loan and pre-contract together if we can.

 

It’s not really specific to Celtic, but you don’t tend to see a lot of pre-contracts announced this far in advance. In general I can only really think of seeing it when there’s been real bad blood and the player is trying to force his release. It’s just not in the player’s interest for it to be announced that he’s leaving come the end of the season from a fan pressure point of view.

KT and Arsenal seemingly have a pretty good relationship, so I think the only way there’s an announcement this month is if we sort out a loan/buy out.

 

Both valid and sensible to be fair.

Arsenal still got 2 more CL qualifiers to go. Once these are done you may see an announcement late next week.

 

The only folk who aren't gaining are the ones who havent been informed yet, I know that sounds a bit flippant but it's simply a process - there's absolutely no requirement to "rush" any announcement that he's signed for Celtic after his contract ends especially while he's still an Arsenal player - does nothing positive for him whilst he's still there.

It'll be announced either IF we manage to sign him on loan till the end of the season, or after there's no deal to be had this window - which I highly doubt if we're willing to let Valle leave early.

Deal isn’t actually done until it the contracts signed. *, we’ve seen Turnbull in getting pictures for us and the deal not done until we signed him following year if I remember right? We don’t know the ins and out of what is actually involved, a deal can be done in principle 99.9% done, but until everything is sorted out 100% then it shouldn’t be announced at all.

*’s definitely more complicated than we make out or think, people involved in making it happen signing players across football not just us make that point consistently. I’ll be * if I know why because deadline day deals it goes through rapid, but it’s something constantly pointed out.

This one on a bosman could be sorted out and we want him here in this window, don’t want to announce it until we know one way or the other etc. but we have no idea.

 

In my mind l'm never 100% a player is signing for us until we've given him his testimonial

 

We signed that defender once on a pre contract, announced it and he got injured and we cancelled it sure he ended up at dundee or something and was pish anyway.
