To be fair McNeill had 8 seasons where he played 50 games or more, not too dissimilar to today. McGregor has only had 4 seasons of 50 games or more so far.

It’s amazing but if KT signs before end of window he could be on full list by end of next season as he’s currently on 170

Wiki page doesn’t include Glasgow Cup matches and up until 1988/89 season it was considered a major trophy in Scotland so his appearances for that were included and same for everyone else on list that played in that competition until 88/89 season

If CalMac and Taylor play against Ross County this weekend CalMac will draw level with Celtic Goalkeeper the great Charlie Shaw in appearances and Taylor will make his 200th appearance for the club.

Just to clarify, I didn’t forget the Scottish Cup, but forgot that the Scottish Cup game v Killie is before the CL game.

Alec Thomson, along with McLean and McInally, one of McGrory's 'wizards', who created so many chances for McGrory to score. Obviously they didn't track 'Assist' stats back in the day, but considering how prolific McGrory was and on top of the 98 goals that Thomson scored, can only imagine how many assists he would've chalked up.

And the 'Little Ant' Bertie Peacock. The man that did all the fetch and carry work that allowed for Charlie Tully to work his magic, and had to lead the team through a very difficult period for the club. A workhorse in the midfield, who also provided the ethic and had a major influence on the likes of Bertie Auld and Billy McNeill.

Neither should be overlooked for their contribution to Celtic and deserve to be respected as such, and both of them are every bit as great as Bobby Murdoch, without having the benefit of being part of a great team in a great era. I would hope and trust that was not @Drakhan intent, but it is worth taking a moment to recognize who they were and what they did, rather than just being names to be 'leapfrogged' to get to the name of one of the Lions as being the benchmark.
