I'm a very harsh critic of him now as I just think we can do so much better now. I just think all game he's still a bit of a weak link without doing much wrong. Just can't help but think Valle was the better option majority of this season. Thing is at times I know I'm unjustifiably harsh on him too.

Aye I admit I'm like that with him as well now. Even when he's no bad I'm just like meh..

The goal was loads of people's fault before his but so many times he's caught lacking at that ball in to his side. Even a corner second half for us by main stand and the way he loses it and they're away on a counter. Drives me mad..

To me there are things with Taylor that aren’t even his fault anymore as it is the clubs for not replacing him.

He is such a poor 1v1 defender and struggles against any wide player with pace and or a trick to their game. If we are resigning Tierney, then I think it will be a shock to some peoples system just how much we are missing with Taylor playing there.

Second is Taylor inverting, he doesn’t just invert he goes and takes up that left half space position at times and if we turn the ball over he has taken himself out the game. Now that doesn’t protect the midfield or the defence and I would much rather have one of our attacking midfielders in that position than my inverted left back.

Don’t get me wrong the occasional run beyond the opponents back line to provide an option/element of surprise to disrupt a low block but when we are trying to build play it then means one of our 8’s has to hold back in case we turn over the ball.

When you combine Maeda with Taylor, you have no one who can beat a man down that side, Maeda can go in behind but given his pace and Taylor’s lack of it your never getting an offer on the overlap.

To round it off he is the complete opposite of your modern footballer physically, he is small, slow and weak. Yes he can play a good ball off his left foot at times and seems a good character but given where we are as a team our next step is to get a Tierney or that style of left back into this side that can own the left side of the park.

Perhaps he's overestimating his worth and is asking for too large a pay increase for a new contract.

Interesting that Scales came on at LB late on yesterday, could be the KT back up if GT goes?

He's just turned 27 so probably thinking to himself it'll be the last big contract of his career and holding out for the biggest money offer he can get. Having been a regular starter for us so long now and with european experience, don't think he'll have a hard time getting a better wage from a championship side, or maybe off somewhere like MLS.

I actually really like Taylor. I know he’s not perfect but as back up to KT I think he’s just what we need. Kieran can’t play the inverted role so it would give us options and for the spl it’s not a problem. BR and previous managers also rate him so I’ll bow to their expertise

And we’ll be lucky to see Tierney for 20 games a season going by his injury record.

I love his fight, he acts like he's a 6'4" monster. He should be our back up though.

Not football related but he is great on the media side. Done videos for Celtic youtube and he's a natural, funny, confident and so sound seeming.

My feeling at the time was that with the score still 2-1 it was about adding his height from a defensive standpoint.
