You know that season We signed Moravcik...we were very close to signing Robert Prosineski from Croatia Zagreb when we also signed Viduka.
Prosineski smoked 40 a day, but visibly tore us apart in Zagreb that season. He'd played with Real Madrid that *

Imagine if we'd got him, Moravcik, Larsson, Viduka.

But folk say if Viduka stayed we'd not have signed Chris Sutton.
So the what ifs go on.....

 

Viduka would not be around to rip the * out of them doing commentary, so maybe an happy ending

 

Hardly got any longevity to it does it

Prosineski went on to be one of the best players in the world, Viduka didn’t.

Henrik Larsson smoked 20 a day when he was making history with us, would you change that?

 

I didn't say there was any problem with Prosineski smoking...or Larsson...to be fair though I've never heard that before about Henrik.

Johan Cruyff smoked like * and was immense.

We have signed many good players from the English market over the years.

it would be foolish not to look at the talent down south.

 

We have but right now it's the most expensive and overpriced market to shop in. See how much we had to pay for Idah as an example.

 

Idah done really well on his loan spell with us, Norwich increased his value as a result of that.

For every Idah there’s another Gary Hooper.

 

This is undoubtedly the hope. English clubs trust English players more, need them more for squad registration, and will simply pay more for them. If MOR was Japanese we wouldn't have seen anything like the same money for him. Makes sense to bring in young English players on the cheap, with the emphasis being on the cheap.
