Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers says that winger Daizen Maeda is back in contention to face Kilmarnock tomorrow evening.

The attacker has missed his side's last two games through injury, but has recovered in time for the visit of Derek McInnes' side to Parkhead in the Scottish Cup.

Rodgers spoke to the media at Lennoxtown today, confirming that the 27-year-old has fully recovered: "He is fully ready to go if we need him," he said.

"For him, it probably felt like more of a little circuit breaker for him as opposed to a long injury.

"He's ready and available to start if needed."

Maeda's return is a timely boost for Celtic as they kick off their defence of the Scottish Cup tomorrow evening
The Japanese international has been a big miss in recent matches against Dundee and Ross County, with Yang Hyun-jun deputising in his absence.

With 14 goals in all competitions, Maeda has been a continual attacking threat for the Parkhead side throughout the campaign to date.

He will aim to add a few more to his ever-growing tally tomorrow, although Killie have conceded just twice in their last five outings.

    Surely it'll be Maeda left?

Got the winner but thought he didn't look 100% fit same with Kuhn. Glad to have him back though.

Thought he was poor but came up with the goods when it mattered. Great finish.

yeah anno, but idah offers absolutely nothing upfront and lately kyogos been better out wide. something always happens when maedas in the box though, hes quite a handful and in good scoring form.

Probably our most clinical finisher right now which is incredibly worrying but fair play to him :giggle1:. Constantly come up with big moments since he got here. Has to be amongst the best £1.5m we've ever spent.

If we played him through the middle more often I think he'd score a barrel load, half of them would be the scrappiest most calamitous looking goals you ever see, but they all count the same.

Wouldn't want to sell him but always wonder what we'd get for him, given he's at his peak age.

I dont remember ever reading any rumours of teams looking at him.

He's got that weird kind of advantage that not having the best technique gives you. Why try and place or pass it when you know that probably won't go to plan. Just * smash it at goal and hope it works out. He does it and some go through, whereas better finishers hold onto it in the final third and it goes nowhere.
