Getting lots of criticism for his recent performances but I am a bit thinking what did people expect? He actually didn't impress all that much on loan- 2 or 3 decent games and that was about it. I really don't think there would have been any clamour for us to sign him were it not for his cup final goal. What we've seen from him this season is really no different from what we saw second half of last season.

Don't agree with that, he made an impact nearly every time he played..last season..

Started v Killie when we clinched the title, bullied, harassed and scored.. that was the performance I was most excited about.. he was aggressive hungry and unplayable..

Rodgers needs to sit him down and make him watch that performance again.. as he's been nowhere near that kind of level so far..

A lot of it is mental for him, which can be worked on.. as we've seen there's a player there.

It’s wild that Simon Murray was more of a physical threat than him last night

He has been absolutely * recently, but do think he looked good last season and seemed fine earlier in the season. Hopefully finds that form again soon.

Is it the effect of him trying hard to impress and now that he’s here, he is not arsed?

Or is it he’s just had a purple patch in the loan and Norwich took advantage of us not planning our recruitment properly and we had no option but to spend 9 million as we had no one else lined up?

whatever has happened it looks like he’s one of the most expensive flops we’ve had.

Not showing any intensity and the other attributes required for what Rodgers wants in his players.
If he was showing that I'd have no problem. If he was chasing pressing setting up others.
Not doing any of it right now.

From the minute we shelled out £9.5 million for him, I thought it was a ridiculous fee. Since then, nothing he’s done on the pitch has convinced me otherwise. He’s not a natural goalscorer, his movement off the ball is poor, and for that kind of money, you’d expect a much bigger impact. Now, to be fair to Idah, it’s not his fault the club decided to pay that kind of fee. That’s on the recruitment team and those making the decisions upstairs. He’s just a player trying to do his best, but unfortunately, he hasn’t delivered what we need from him so far.

It’s baffling, really. Clubs can’t afford to make these kinds of mistakes in the transfer market, especially at that price. I’d love to see him prove everyone wrong, but based on what I’ve seen so far, I don’t think it’s going to happen.

We overpaid for him last season. At £6m he was already an expensive gamble. Now at over £9m it looks ridiculous.

The guy does have a lot of skill, the problem seems to be his attitude and lack of confidence, he needs a good talking to.

Price tag is irrelevant ....He is taking up a key place in the squad , we only play two strikers , no room for passengers there we could have someone else in or giving Kenny a run. We will probably not move for Kvitsgaarden as Idah is on a long deal.

Unfortunately, Idah is gonna be used as an example of tightening purse strings and of evidence that money doesn't buy you quality.

Sections of our support (and the board/club) are gonna use this one against the idea of pushing the boat out.

But simply put, we got shafted with Idah (not his fault for the price) and for 5-9m any respectable recruitment team should be able to find someone to fit the system and be of a better calibre for us.

Said it earlier, whilst Idah himself should be doing a lot better, this system really doesn't suit our Strikers.

Both Idah and Kyogo have had very little service over the season, it's no surprise almost all of our goals have came from Maeda and Kuhn.

We seen how much better Kyogo was out wide, it's something I hope Rodgers looks at as the season goes on, albeit Idah himself still has to do better.

Tbf, Rodgers wanted him and the board backed him.. would they not be right to be cautious going £9m+ again on Rodgers say so?

We need to hope whoever identified Engels is the one pushing through any bigger deals.. Tisdale maybe?

100% Rodgers wanted him, this is as much his fault as the rest of the club in that sense.

But when it got to £9m, a decent recruitment team should have been pushing forward plenty more names that could be gotten for the same or less.

TBF Simon Murray has gave a lot of teams trouble. He is a handful and always gives his all.
With Idah I think it is definitely a confidence issue. 12 games without a goal preys on a forward's mind. Ask John Hartson that.

But I wouldn't put in by him, to turn it on against Killie and YB.

Needs to get the finger out and start using his physical attributes to influence the game more. His hold up play is very poor and first touch is dreadful.

Aye there was no excuse last night, he was poor, but prior to tonight he's went through games with almost no service, Kyogo the exact same.
