He’s just off it and has been for a few weeks, genuinely wouldn’t surprise me if he’s carrying something.

We have the players to accommodate taking him out the firing line so we should be.

This has been the case for several years.. no manager of ours seems keen to rectify it despite McGregor very rarely offering protection for our backline in Europe.. (or now at lower levels).

He's a wee * as well. Needs to * toughen up, put on a bit of muscle. He's losing his legs anyway, might as well bulk up.

We need more power in midfield. I see McGregor being on the bench and gradually left out next season if he doesn't adapt his game.

Fed up saying it but he's not a * defensive midfielder.

I think asking him to start and play all three of the last games in 6 days has been a massive mistake. I don’t think he has it in him anymore to play so many games in such a short space of a time.

He wasn’t helped today as Bernardo was miles off it for some reason tonight and McCowan apart from his goal seemed to try a couple of things that didn’t come off then settled into going sideways back in field most of the game.

The first goal of the counter attack on the corner showed how badly we lacked any athleticism in the team as those who are outside their box were just chasing shadows.

It's time to either take him out the midfield or play him further up the park...I properly CDM should have been where we spend 11m ...

He won’t be. Regardless of his form, I can’t see Rodgers ever properly dropping him for any extended period of time.

Is there any other player in any other team in the world that could be as poor/anonymous for so long and still be guaranteed 90mins every game?

I think we've had a generous Champions league draw this year, I'm not so sure it'll be the same next season.

If the huns actually sack Clement and get their * together, as highly unlikely as that is, we wouldn't be able to keep coasting on playing this *.

Brendan loves McGregor, and I get that. He's been brilliant. But something has to change.

Kills me inside that we just need to accept that he’s going to play 99% of games because he’s the captain and extremely pally with the manager.

I love McGregor and I think he’s done an incredible job stepping into the captains role and filling the big boots that Broony left behind.

But we need to put sentiment in the bin if we want to be the best we can possibly be. It’s clear as day that McGregor is dwindling and that we need a natural, aggressive, dynamic CDM in the team.

It’s becoming similar to LB role. Just outright failure to spend on a position that has been our Achilles heal for years and years.

Doesn’t try anything more than a 5 yard simple ball.

Hes played so many minutes over his career now you start to wonder is it catching up with him. Hes an important club man to have in the dressing room but his influence on the pitch seems like it beginning to wain over the last few months. Ideally we would manage his minutes better but without a natural replacement he will prob be starting and playing the full 90m for the forseeable.

Got stat wrong. He’s on 495 so his 500th match would be away to Motherwell after the Villa match

He’s one of my favourite players to ever play for the club but I’ve never seen him have so many bad games in such a short period of time.

He just never been a proper defensive midfielder and I think the midfielders around him are very inconsistent and now teams are starting to genuinely believe we can be got at & bullied in midfield. McGregor in turn is getting more exposed and his defensive attributes have never been his greatest asset, don't forget he basically came through as an inverted winger/attacker. The midfield needs a shake up.

Absolutely fantastic player for us, but would like to see Engels and Hatate in midfield with Bernardo sitting. Think a few games out would re-energise him. A proper defensive midfielder would be good but how often do we actually need one?

Needs a rest, bench him for a few games and let him find his mojo.
