The bump on this thread got me a bit excited. It all depends on if Rodgers thinks we need a proper DMF. And yes, @jvalin , our Japanese bhoys could persuade Wataru to come to us.

Aye, it was even evident last night, no bite in the midfield. Defence was ropey and we should have been out of sight with chances missed.. but when it came to a bit of a battle we were outfought..

 

Genuinely think the only reason our name is being mentioned is because we've signed several Japanese players in recent seasons.

 

Endo is exactly what we need but not realistic - wages, age, and transfer fee they’d want make him out of reach.

Isn't he pretty lightweight, a kinda Calmac style player when at #6 - technically excellent but deffo not an aggressive holding CM?

No, not really - he’s a ball winner who covers a lot of ground. Was brilliant at it in the Bundesliga and did it a lot last year at Liverpool.

Filled in at CB a few times for them this season and played well too.

 

He’s a better version of Iwata in his style of play. In which we didn’t think he did enough attacking wise anyway so shipped him off! Would be wasted with us for 40 games of the season. Hence why we persist with McGregor who isn’t a 6 just cos he gets forward more than his defensive capabilities
