Wasn’t a high bar though, CCV also fluffed a few passes and dithered more than usual. Can’t believe every players performance today

    Only player worth talking about.

If we had more of him, we'd have actually done something today.

    Cannot lose him.

The only reliable and consistently good defender in the squad.

Genuinely felt sorry for him today, being subjected to everyone around him crumbling like that under a bit of adversity is a * riddy. Must’ve been wondering what the * he’s done to deserve to be stuck next to scales today. Shudder to think about the state of our back 4 when if and when he goes.

Fine today, only comment I've made on the players since the game or I'd be here for hours, that tackle was unreal , even if the guy was offside it was class.

And trusty was just as bad in the last game against the huns. Wonder if CCV can just play on his own! :67:

Agree CCV is next level, but in no way was Trusty anything like as bad Scales was at Ibrox in that final.
Trusty went off as BR tried a tactic to get a 'more incisive passer' into the game due to our midfield hiding - he didn't actually do that much wrong.

Looking forward to long and fruitful partnership between Trusty and CCV.
I think Trusty can be just as good as CCV, a high bar I know - but he compliments CCV perfectly.

Add KT and AJ, plus Kasper - that's a pretty mean defence.

There’s not much breathing space between Saturday’s win at Ross County and tomorrow night’s (Tuesday’s) trip to Tayside to take on Dundee at Dens Park.

The 4-1 result at Dingwall was all the more enjoyable considering the icy conditions it was played in, and Cameron Carter-Vickers was delighted with the win and is looking forward to the Celts showing those same attributes against Dundee.

The defender said: “As a group I feel we enjoy those matches.

“The pitch wasn’t great and obviously it was freezing up there, but we saw it as an opportunity for us to show how good we are and show we can do it no matter what the conditions are.

“Every away game, especially at this time of the year is always a challenge. So, again, we know we are going to have to be professional in our performance and perform at a high level to get the three points.

'The squad are in a good place, putting in good performances and, for us, it’s about continuing that as well as we can and maintaining our levels in each and every game.'

There are games every few days now, and the schedule feels even busier with there being no winter break this season, but it’s something that Carter-Vickers is not only taking in his stride, but even enjoying.

He said: “It’s always a challenge, but, to be fair, here I think we’ve got the squad to deal with that challenge.

“We’ve got a lot of good players, some that are playing and some that aren’t, but everyone’s ready to step in when they need to and bring the team energy when needed.

“For me personally, I grew up in England and played in the Championship down there where there’s no winter break, so for me it’s not too uncommon.

“It’s difficult, it’s definitely demanding physically and mentally, but I kind of enjoy the games coming thick and fast, and you get into a rhythm of just playing every game.

“Whenever I come back from injury I feel I am prepared to come in and play, but it definitely helps when you get a rhythm of games under your belt, and in the games you start feeling the flow and your performances will pick up at that point

The Celt missed out on a few games earlier in the season because of a toe injury and he is delighted to be back in the running and said: “The toe was a difficult one because I played on it for a few games and it got just too painful to carry on because I need that rest time, but it also recovers fairly slowly, so when I first came back from it, I was still in a bit of pain.

“I got some special inner soles and boots made which helped it along the way, but at this point now it’s pretty much back to normal. I’m still aware of it but no real pain.”

He added: “I think right now we are performing at a really good level and, as I said, it’s just about maintaining that level and trying to improve and get better, but also just knowing that we’ve got to be consistent in our work, day in and day out, and that will show in the games

Cameron Carter-Vickers admits it's nice to know his Celtic display's are being noticed by other club's, but is adamant that his only focus is on representing the Scottish Premiership champions to the best of his ability.

The former Tottenham Hotspur centre-back, who is contracted until summer 2029, has been linked with a January switch to German club Bayer Leverkusen.

Addressing speculation around his Celtic future, the USA defender said: "For me, not really, to be honest, because there's always going to be talks in the papers and stuff like that. But first of all, a lot of stuff you read is not always true.

And for me, as long as I'm here, I'm prepared to play each game to the best that I can.

"It's always nice to know that people are kind of taking notes of your performances.

"But again, like I was saying, you never really know how true it is when you just read it on the paper or on a website or anything like that."

I think trusty and carter vickers are too alike in their style of defending. Don’t think scales is the answer but think CCV needs someone with a better passing ability next to him and that’s slightly quicker (that costs a lot in today’s game I know). Genuinely think Tierney in his Scotland role for us would be great next to him

Very good defender in the classic sense but think his ability on the ball is probably whats prevented more offers coming in from the more fashionable leagues. Would be a huge loss for us and not easily replaced.

Annoyed me particularly when he dallied on the ball and got roasted by their forward second half..

2nd goal he also needs to do better along with trusty originally! Criminal he goes to ground in that situation stand the lad up and he’s going nowhere! Aye Trusty has to do better originally but he needs to also stay on his feet

Wasn’t perfect but he must be getting * off as well at others around him continually making basis mistakes.

AJ, Trusty, Scales, Taylor…not one of them is a genuinely reliable defender. All have stupid mistakes in them - some more than others.
