Don't think it's a meltdown m8 . I think it's justified concern that we have shipped three goals in three games due to pish poor defending and are failing to punish teams by not converting our chances.

Brendan certainly not missing the team tonight in his presser, calling us passive, not aggressive enough with and without the ball and not winning our battles, calling out Trusty.

He's not happy man but it's refreshing to hear the public kick up * - now get it fixed gaffer.

    12 shots Dundee had * 10.

I'm sick of us doing nothing with the * ball. We don't shoot enough, too many wasted passes. Ccv doesn't need to give it to trusty to then give it to taylor so that he can give it to yang, you * pass it to yang cameron and vice versa with trusty to the right wing.

Callum is way too far back, he should be running the game from the centre circle like the brugge midfielder did against ys at celtic park, instead he's on top of our defenders and mostly just plays it straight back to them.

We need an actual midfielder who can put his foot on the ball and get us up the park.

9 million wasted on idah lol

Happy for yang tl get a goal but still no real end product.

Trusty bullied way to easy as well

Fair play to Tony Docherty and Dundee though. They were excellent.

That is actually a fair concern.

I don't think Idah will be anywhere near the YB game though, the defence is a worry.

So we're needing Paul Elliott in defence and Paul McStay in the midfield.....

    Sorted

There is a definite lack of Pauls in the team. Needs to be addressed in the transfer window.

Definitely plenty to consider. Dont really like rushing to knee * reactions on the basis of individual games. But some concerning themes repeating in the team.

Wastefulness in front of goal and struggling to score the killer goal to put the game to bed early.

Our defence as a unit do not look very secure at actual defending. They are mistake prone when actually put under pressure (although CCV is a very good defender). We have 70-80% possession in most SPL games, so overall they dont actually have to do a huge amount of defending. But when they do they look vulnerable, especially in transition when we get turned over.

Players - Yang and Idah have had a decent run of minutes lately and are not offering enough to the team overall (accept Yang scored tonight but overall contribution for me is a longer term issue).

Hatate and McGregor look faded versions of themselves for a lot of this season. We dont really have an alternative to McGregor though. Bernardo can be inconsistent drifting in and out of games. Was particularly poor tonight.

Trusty - Awful tonight which is worrying but not sure if thats just a really bad day at the office and hopefully not the a frequent occurrence.

It can be difficult to assess how good the team is as an overall unit vs how much its getting by thanks to better quality individuals having good games as most SPL opposition are both overmatched and lacking ambition playing us. The OF games recently worried me that this team is not as good as its points lead in the table might suggest and that beating overmatched teams is papering over certain issues that need fixing if we are to improve to the next level.

Exactly Dundee have been the best team I have saw this season domestically. Good to watch and very competitive all over the park.

People forget that the opposition are trying to win the game aswell....they'll try everything to cancel us out and focus on whatever weaknesses we have. It's not always going to be a 4 or 5 nil walkover for us.

Real Madrid and Barca should be miles ahead of all other teams in their league. They both still have games where everything doesn't go they're way. It happens every season to every team. * look at Man City ffs

We don't have a goalscoring CM , Callum is/was that man if he plays higher up. I'm hopeful Engels can find his shooting boots but he doesn't seem to have that knack unfortunately. The amount of time we Get The ball with a bit of space just outside the box and can't get a shot on target is criminal .

Just on this part of your post, we do need to start getting a few more attempts at goal off, agreed.

But in practice, it's not always so easy. Look at the amount of bodies in front of us when attacking compared to when Dundee are coming at us, and 9 times our of 10 it's a counter attack from them, so we are a bit more open. It's just something to bear in mind.

Concerning stats yes, but not massively surprising.

Don’t think it’s a meltdown as over the season, but it’s the Dundee v Celtic thread and most people are going to be disappointed with that performance as an individual match, a went through the 90s barren years aswell and I’m delighted with the way it’s turned over last 20 years, but id be a happy clapper liar if I said I wasn’t utterly * off with that performance tonight, couldn’t really take any positives from it other than we didn’t get beat

Tony Docherty really coming into his own at Dundee.

As for us, that’s enough of the points dropped for a while please. 7 over the last month and a half which is too much for a Celtic team. Especially with where we want to be.

Only meaningless because the Huns have been dropping points all over the shop

I'm sick to death of McGregor playing DM push him up and play Bernardo or Engles in there

For all we did in the first half, when the game should have been won, that was a woeful display from us and a good performance from Dundee. Our defensive display was sadly lacking and, although I'm a fan, Trusty was out-played tonight: het for 2 goals I thought. We were far too slow and timid when we had the ball and Calum was much too far back. I enjoyed watching Khun tonight but was sorely disappointed with both Engels and Idah.
After scoring that og CCV should be sold immediately. :fear:
