I mind the pie stall being unhygienically close to the bogs.

And they were bogs. Awful things. No wonder folk * on the terracing

Worth it, though to see the likes of Jinky and Paul McStay.

I started going regular in the old park's last season. The Lou Macari season

We were pish. The crowds were way down so I don't remember it being packed apart from a new year old firm game. It was only half full the rest of the season.

My dad says the last time the terraces were packed to the point of it being uncomfortable and worrying was winning league v dundee in 1988.

I remember sack the board and we were moving to Robroyston, then Cambuslang, and Glasgow City Council were paying for it all.

......and in the meantime they put bucket seats in the jungle that spelt out 'CELTIC' and we were supposed to be impressed

We beat Cologne 3 nil after losing 0-2 in Germany. That was a loud night.

We beat Sporting Lisbon aswell. I was at that one aswell. Jorge Cadete was playing with Sporting Lisbon.

I think we drew with Dortmund aswell but I missed that one

    All early 90s.

Vastly overcrowded, crowds of people getting shifted around the track whilst the game was going on.

Three of us went and one of the guys asked if we would mind if his workmate could come along with us, "no problem" And he would bring his car and drive us there, "even better" Couldn't find a place to park so we told him, "just park in front of that gate, it's the weekend, nobody will bother" Place was so busy that we ended up in the huns end, absolutely jam packed. Ten minutes into the game came the announcement, "Could the owner of car registration number *** **** please come and move their car immediately" Thing is he came back at half time and still found us. Never ever seen him again after that day :56::56::56:

Does anyone mind that old pub 'The Grange' Duke Street I think close to the old park?

I think that was hands down the most bogging pub I've ever been in. And my da and uncle still went nearly every game. It was rough as * too. Hunners of fights

That was in the late 80s.....88 or 89 maybe.

We drew them again in the early 90s aswell. I'm sure we drew with them at Parkhead

I just searched it. They actually beat us 1-2 that game. Season 92/93. But a close score like that against a good team was not expected at all in those days. So we took it as a positive....almost.

Was at all of them, think Bobby Robson was the Sporting Manager in the 90s game..

We beat Sporting 5-0 as well, in the 80s wearing our Apple kit..Loved that kit.

First big one I remember was Real Madrid 1980, European Cup Quarter Final, beat them 2-0 and lost the return 3-0. Crazy atmosphere, still have the ticket stub.

Was that not 86? Think it was my first game at celtic park, thought it was gonne finish a draw so me and my mate left to get to train station and as we walked past an outside broadcast TV van we seen the little monitor inside and just happened to be when we scored the winner.

    Edit: was actually season 87-88.

I was never lucky enough to see the old stadium hopefully some photos get uploaded here for the unlucky too see. I wonder if there’s photos of both stadiums at similar angles especially the main stand.

Just checked and it was September 87. I thought I was older than 16 ..but I loved the European nights at the old stadium..just the memories of going with my mates and no longer seeing them especially my big English mate Bill...was from Blackpool and was in the navy..moved to helensburgh next to us and he somehow fell in love with Celtic and the rest is history.. magical times.

I used to love the walk up the Gallowgate to the park. Lots of nostalgia. Walking through that Barrowfield scheme on a dark night in the winter. The smell of the burger vans. Sometimes a wee poor homeless character playing rebel tunes on his wee tin whistle for spare change.

    "GET YER HATS...SCARVES....AND THE FLAGS..."

    "PROGRAMS!!!"

    Just shouted on repeat.

And stalls selling rebel music on cassettes
