Surely there's gotta be more of a worry around Tierneys injury record though..

    I did vote for Tierney.

As in this hypothetical situation if he was fully fit it's the better decision for us.

However I am really concerned about how many games he will be able to play for us at full fitness.

Tierney every day. Jota has effectively failed everywhere he has been since (some down to game time and some down to his ability) and is nowhere near the player he was. Tierney despite his injuries is a winner and a leader.

I have said this repeated times I don't get the Jota love in. 2022 prime Jota is gone. 2025 Jota is a difft player and there r better options out there for that position

    Tierney by quite a bit

Tierney is a rare opportunity to sign a genuinely top tier EPL player for free. Practically unhead of for celtic. Injuries is the obvious risk but we simple aren't getting an opportunity like that without accepting some negative risk. Add to the fact we've been trying to sign a good left back for 5 years or so and never managed it I think it would be a brilliant signing as long as the medical team OK it.

Jota...less convinced that it will happen or that I want it to happen. He's hardly kicked a ball in 2 years, couldn't get a sniff in Saudi league now cant get in the Renne team. Manager has called him out for training poorly and being lazy. And there doesn't seem to be a line of top teams knocking down Rennes door to sign him. I wouldn't mind him coming back, and if we get him cheap it's worth a punt. But not convinced.

Not voting, because personally I'd rather we filled both positions with new faces, because I'm never too keen on going back for previous "heroes". Get in 2 young lads, with full wind in their sails for fitness and no injury issues of note...

But... Hypothetically, I'd have gone for Jota. You can coach fitness and motivation back into a talented player, but there's only so much you can do mediate injury - especially in a league where we play 70 games in 9 months; in often atrocious conditions and pitches, and get kicked around constantly. If we could somehow guarantee Tierney would stay fit and injury free, I'd switch but that's not true...

Possibly but I feel like Tierney can be managed around his injuries.

Love both but I'd go for Jota. Best winger we've had for years and years.

Love KT, but for various reasons it’s got to be Jota.

Jota all day long. I wouldn’t touch KT if I was in charge at Celtic. He is so injury prone and what kind of back up left back would come to us to play 2nd fiddle if we sign KT.

    Jota.. reliable starter.

I'm still wary of bringing Tierney back given his injury record.

Jota and by quite a distance.

He’s exactly what we lack on the left. Him and Kuhn on either flank is the stuff of dreams.

Two unselfish, direct, silky, inventive wingers with a goal threat who both work their * off.

Tierney is a top class player but he’ll be retired by 30, due to the way he was mismanaged here.

Taking injections when he had osteitis pubis to play the likes of Kilmarnock because our back up left back was Jonny Hayes is quite frankly * ridiculous. A failure on behalf of recruitment and management.

I think people are hugely underestimating how concerning his injury problems are.

If he can stay fit he’d be brilliant for us of course, but if pushed I’d still go for Jota even if that was the case.

The club needs a quality left back more than a winger, but went Jota just due to the injury history.
