I agree we should spend big but I think your argument as to why this guy isn't the right option isn't that strong.

You're basing it off the club he's playing for and the fact Holm hasn't hit it off here.

I would actually agree also that £7m would be a lot for someone with his level of top flight experience but unfortunately that's the way the market is now. Toure is a similar example..one good season in Sweden and he's at £10m as an 18 year old.

Ideally I'd like us to sign this guy or toure and someone more experienced. E.g. Isaksen. But that's the guts of £20m on two wingers. Which won't happen.

With the outgoings this financial year from July onwards we could easily spend that and still not touch the bank

We could but I'd get a tattoo of your face on my * if we spend £20m on two wingers this window, mate.

Would signing Kvistgaarden alongside this guy count as two wingers :BR1:

Having watched Kvistgardeen a few times he should be our priority. He's like a hybrid of Kyogo/Kuhn/Maeda. Our attack would be frightening in Europe.

Only way I see us getting Isaksen is to replace Kuhn unfortunately for his price Unless the board show serious ambition

I'm afraid Kvistgaarden is a striker mate. But if we sign him AND two wingers for £30m I'll get your face on my other cheek.:79:

Johansen and Jo Inge Berget play at his club.

Elyonoussi started out there as well.

There’s a great quote from Warnock saying Van Dijk was playing in Scotland, not worth the money and he was available for around £6m apparently at that point. We all laugh like * about that now.

And the pelters are all arrogant English * that. But we always have our fans saying * like this.

I’ve 3 examples that stick out I wish we got and this was the attitude about them, there’s old threads on them on here still I think - Ivan Toney, League 1 not proven overrated because English and inflated prices. £6m/£7m I think he was, we signed Ajeti instead who was proven for Basel and had earned a move to the Premiership instead.

And then the second is Oliver Giroud, £2m odd he was, never played above the second French League, biscuit tin mentality.

And there was Jamie Vardy who was waaaay down the leagues at that point, and was treated as a * personal insult to all Celtic fans being linked to him. Think it was Fortune ad Rasmussen instead of him if the timescales right.

We moan like * when our players are judged on playing in the SPFL not for the talent they have, * Rodgers has said that several times both stints of being our manager - but by * are we shocking for doing it ourselves.

I’d * love a McGeady type, * adored him at us - never argued with other fans as much about an opinion on one of our players as much either.

Somebody on the left who can carry the ball, skilfull, unpredictable and deadly on the counter and with a packed box to attack.

Kuhn and Jota are two similar types we’ve had since, and we’ve been stacked on the wings since he left but they two are the only two I think are of the same style.

Charlie Austin as well was linked in the lower leagues.

Think at the time fans being skeptical of that type of move is understandable. But I agree on what you're saying 100%. We are just as bad for it.

It's weird considering we play in Scotland.

Giroud was going to sign and chose to stay in France with a move to ligue 1. Smashed it then moved to arsenal. We were really unlucky with that one

I think fans were a bit more open to Austin as that wasn't that long after we had signed Hooper from League 1 and attitude changed slightly for a period of time.

Definitely was back to the old ways by time we were linked with Toney.

Despite our many failings that season i still think we'd have won the 10 if we had signed Toney instead of that lump of wood Ajeti
