Kyogo Furuhashi

After spending £9m on Idah, I'm not sure I trust BR to replace Kyogo. Then again, in the system we play we would be as well sticking a traffic cone upfront at times.

It's a real possibility, this wasn't just some blog or newspaper going off a rumour, it's the proper MLS website, they'll be getting sent the info directly from the club on who they're registering as designated players, not sure how they pull a completely different players name out of thin air.

 

Makes no sense to me, the names and profiles of the two players are so different. Only similarity is they’re Japanese

I think Kyogo is away too, we've seen the best of him, and I don't think he fits the Rodger's model of pace and power, going forward.
He's been a great player for us over the years, but he has never been the same since that Liverpool Hun dislocated his shoulder.

 

We'd legitimately probably get more joy out of having somecunt like Dykes up front when you think of it.

We smother teams into their own box that much that we basically cannot deliver a ball on the ground into the box as it just bounces off someone. If we had a big * who could head a ball we'd be better from the corners we get from all the crosses being blocked and we'd be able to just cross the ball in high all the time instead so the * could head it.

Our strikers touch the ball that little that they don't even need to be any use on the ball, they could be a big diddy from the lower Leagues who is great in the air.

 

I mean in America that could well be enough to confuse them.

 

The other guy they've announced now is a half Japanese/American coming from the j-league and not a designated player, really looks like they've jumped the gun releasing the kyogo announcement, don't think there's any way to pretend they've somehow got it wrong and confused the two players. And one of their tweets said 'vol 1' so I'd take that to mean he's not the only Japanese player they're signing.

The MLS transfer window doesn't open proper til the 31st though, I imagine the plan was for kyogo to see out the month and play the last two cl games while we get his replacement in.

 

If Kyogo was off, surely we'd be hearing something about a striker coming in. It's been 9 days into the transfer window.

 

As Mail Sport first reported, Atlanta United are also keen to snap up Kyogo Furuhashi in a £9.5m deal, with the Japanese attacker keen to secure one final pay day.

We're only hearing about it now because they've * up, it would have been kept quiet until after we have his replacement sorted and the cl games were played, just because you haven't heard anything about incoming players yet doesn't mean it isn't happening, we always try to keep our business as quiet as possible.

 

OK, the wee man's been a bit hit and miss lately, but when he's on it, he's electric and probably been one of our best strikers in years. Hopefully we replace him with someone just as good and not another Idah who has been a massive disappointed

 

Still doesn't explain why there's so few striker rumors. We are not replacing an insignificant player, we are replacing our best striker whom Idah hasn't managed to outperform. Surely we can work on a striker and LW at once, and unless we're looking in Japan, rumors do leak.

Hoping we go for Kvistgaarden again but I fear we’ve missed the boat on him.

We need someone all action who is going to make things happen.
