Played well tonight, would have liked to have seen him taking a dig a couple of times but he was decent.

Getting Tierney in on a free while Taylor getting a new contract would be a masterstroke and the strongest depth we've had at LB for my life time. Both offer completely different traits, Tierney being more traditional and GT playing as an inverted fullback. This would be some ambition.

Had a great first half, it was like we were playing 3 at the back with Taylor in midfield.
Linked up well with Maeda and we looked dangerous down the left side.
We looked so blunt down the right side last night.

I thought he played very well last night and I'm one of his biggest critics however, we still need better though like we do in other areas of the team if we want to progress

Looked a lot sharper and rotated far better into the middle, he’s very good at that role which is good domestically. I’d be happy with him getting a new deal and signing KT on a pre-contract.

No idea why he is getting do much praise. He looked good when playing in midfield probably taken on board the recent “criticism” and reduced his number of back passes. He was decent tonight but nothing spectacular. However when it was his turn to defend he was poor and lost a few duels and gave the ball away to dundee utd in dangerous areas.

Look I wouldn’t mind if he signed a new deal but that would only be as a backup. We clearly can do much better in that position and that’s even if we don’t sign Tierney.

So the reason Rodgers knickers are in such a twist is that he’s been trying to convince Taylor that he wouldn’t be second choice come summer and would see plenty game time, so to sign a new contract. Been hyping him up and telling him how loved he is here, then feels the KT chants undermined that.

Taylor’s sitting on a contract renewal and we won’t make a move to bring in KT this month until that’s resolved.

Even if we got KT, he probably would still play majority of the games as not to risk injuring KT lets be honest.

I feel he just wants to big of a wage increase, which considering how much he's relied on is probably fair.

He plays the most games in a position really hard to replace with quality. Can see why he's demanding big money tbh.

He's a first team player and has been since his debut asking for first team wages is what he probably deserves,

See the thing is with Taylor, he and Tierney play the role very differently and where it would give us an option to switch styles it would also mean being forced to playing with an inverted left back if Taylor was playing. Do we want to have to switch the team like that for the games he plays or would it be better to sign a more traditional left back in the summer when Valle loan expires?

The above makes sense to me though, Valle has offered us a lot when played but then just gets dropped again. That would tie in with convincing Taylor to sign.

If I was betting on it I would think he ends up in the MLS.

Apparently our pursuit of Tierney has impacted his contract talks. I don't like that Taylor is coming across as spitting his dummy as he could have genuine competition.

Trabzonspor want Celtic left-back Greg Taylor to replace former Rangers star Borna Barisic.

The Parkhead defender is out of contract this summer and is now free to speak to potential suitors. Turkish Super Lig outfit Trabzonspor are the latest club to register their interest. Mail Sport can reveal that Spanish outfit Espanyol and English Championship teams Hull City and QPR are also keen on the 27-year-old

It’s understood that IF he leaves Celtic in January or the summer, he’d prefer to play in Europe. But as Mail Sport revealed last week, his preference is still to stay at Celtic. The Scotland star is happy in Glasgow and enjoys working with gaffer Brendan Rodgers. Taylor is currently in negotiations with the club over a new deal but they’ve yet to reach an agreement.

Celtic’s pursuit of Arsenal ace and former hero Kieran Tierney has impacted discussions. MailSport understands that reports of Taylor wanting around £25,000-a-week to stay at Parkhead are wide of the mark. But the left-back isn’t short of offers from elsewhere. Croatia’s Dinamo Zagreb are still in the hunt for his signature. And now Trabzonspor are also at the table, as they look to replace Barisic, who has failed to establish himself as a regular starter in Turkey.

Hull City are eyeing a move for Celtic defender Greg Taylor as the Tigers look to bolster their defensive ranks before the January transfer window closes.

Taylor is out of contract at Parkhead in the summer and is now able to speak to other clubs about his long-term future, though talks over a new deal in Glasgow continue, but have so far reached no conclusion

City are keen to add to their defensive ranks before the deadline on February 3 and have identified the 27-year-old as a potential target, though he's not the only player under consideration.

It's understood Taylor is open to staying with the Hoops, given he has a positive working relationship with boss Brendan Rodgers. He has been a regular for the runaway Premiership leaders this season, starting 15 games, along with all five games in the Champions League, though has not ruled out moving on this month if fresh terms cannot be agreed.

The Championship club are not the only potential destination for the former Scottish Under-21 international, with league rivals QPR keen, as well as Turkish outfit Trabzonspor and Croatian giants Dinamo Zagreb.

Taylor is on the cusp of making his 200th Celtic appearance, currently sitting on 199 appearances having already notched 131 for Kilmarnock before moving to the East End of Glasgow, the only other club he's played for. He's also experienced in Europe, playing 33 times across the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League - 17 of those have come in the Champions League proper
