Great point.

Two strikers with varying qualities not really performing to what's expected of them. It's weird with the wide players we have that the strikers are so often starved of decent service.

 

Don’t think it matters who we have CF in this system they will only get a decent chance once a game on average. Both have scored a few and have missed a few chances, but not many it has to be said, They are few and far between. Doesn’t seem to be a problem though for the team as we have scored barrel loads this season.

 

Still not doing enough in games. Would like to see us bringing in another goalscorer.

He's already proven he can be a match winner for us, Rodger's wanted him back for that reason, people really need to get over the fee we paid for him.

aye I agree, like any striker, he needs a run to get into his stride. I’m not sure he will get it though but there’s a player in there. Also would like to see kyogo playing off him. Unlikely as it’s not how we play but think it would give us a different option

Think hes a confidence player and looks a bit low just now. Look at him towards the end of last season and even for Ireland in the summer.

Us * about and leaving him at Norwich until August hasn't helped him at all. He's then came in not where he should of been fitness wise and has resulted in him spending a lot of time on the bench playing 2nd fiddle which has then had snowball effect on fitness and confidence.

Absolutely no reason why he shouldn't start the next 3 or 4 games

 

I agree he needs a run of games so we can properly assess him. My suspicion is that we were right in assuming we overpaid by several million for him, but we won't know until he gets that opportunity to find sharpness and form through getting regular starts.

 

Play Kyogo and Idah together for the easier SPL games.
Gets both up and running and in the goals.

 

On the fence with him as well. Think we overpaid for him which is often the case buying from England. His history at Norwich doesnt scream of a goal scorer and I do wonder had he not scored that winner in the cup final if we would have paid 9m for him.

However at the same time, neither striker is producing good stats this season while the wide men are suppling all the numbers. So its perhaps a case of a system that suits the wide men more that the striker. The spl teams find it easier to pack the box and mark the striker than to cover the wide men so it doesnt surprise me that the strikers are producing lower numbers.

Exactly. This doesn’t get spoken about enough. Folk go on about the fee. They never mention that the lad didn’t have a pre-season with us.

…and the boy’s still never had a run of games. Starting a season on the wrong foot can impact more than just the first couple of games, you know.
