Not sure why we don't seem to be revisiting the japanese market. Plenty of talented players at affordable prices. Kyogo, Maeda and Hatate were absolute bargains.

 

I'd buy Hearts' Wilson for a million with add ons and keep him at Hearts for at least two years.

We have cash to risk on purchases like that.

Wouldn’t be overly shocked if Kyogo was sold in Jan and we got Ferguson on loan til the end of the season

 

If we sell Kyogo then Mathias Kvistgardeen makes sense as his replacement. I would still go all out for Kvistgardeen regardless as he can be played as winger too.

 

We have tried to buy him before a couple of times. He wants to be playing first team games.

 

Think Aaron Hickey done the same, and honestly better route for progressing for they guys.

we don’t have a good track record for young Scottish players. He’s won himself his place at Hearts, for us he won’t play. A game or two is best he could expect, and a lot more money as well but I also don’t want players that would trade progression and gametime for extra dough.

 

Could be a wee pal on the treatment table for Tierney.

 

Souffian El Karouani

24 year old Left back who plays with FC Utrecht in the Eredevisie. Been excellent this season since his move from Nijmegen. Moroccan International now, too. Utrecht are having an excellent season as well. Sitting in 3rd place, only a couple of points behind Ajax.

 

Think a team performing like that in the Dutch league bypasses their players to the bigger leagues unfortunately. Worth asking though! Still can’t believe other teams came in for giakoumakis when we got him after top league scorer for a relegated team.

 

Good thing for us is that even if we buy a player from a club that played in champions league this season they won’t be cup tied after league phase has ended so could play from play offs onwards

 

£6M for very decent Wolfsburg wide player - goes by name of Cerny or something?

Suggested him in the summer but see he is still largely frozen out at Southampton, Kameldeen Sulemana for the left wing.

He is still only 22, has great pace, dribbling ability, and has shown end product in the past. He did very well in Denmark as a teenager, then well in Ligue 1 before the move to Southampton. Can play off either side too.

I would argue he looked a better player than the likes of Adringa and Osiman that Brighton signed after him. A loan to buy would be a decent option for us.



For another striker option Henrik Meister may be worth a loan to buy he was very good in Norway at Sarpsborg but like Jota the change of manager at Rennes has seen him not get any minutes. He is big,strong and quick, good in the air and still only 21.

He was named alongside Jota as players Rennes would be happy to let go in January. They seem a bit of a mess just now as a club.

Given the success of Kuhn coming from Austria, there is a playmaker called Dominick Fitz, who has impressive numbers for Austria Vienna this season as they sit second in the league. He seems to be a really creative player with an eye for a pass. He is 25 so not a youngster but seems to have been a consistent creative player for his team over the last 3 seasons with 7 goals and 11 assists in 27; 8 goals and 5 assists in 27 and has 3 goals and 9 assists in 15 this year. He appears to be the top creative player in the league this season, looks to have a nice range of passing and good a linking up play and getting beyond the striker. The video is from 2 seasons ago but gives a sense of how he plays.

 

Seen a article we were linked with Tobias Slotsager from OB 19 y/o wonderkid. This is the type of player we should be looking at. On a side note Tobias Palacio 18 y/o Argentinian centre back looks like the next big thing. Hopefully our South American scouts are keeping tabs on him.

 

Not so much a suggestion but a question, does anyone know what happened to
Diadié Samassékou when he went to Hoffenheim?

I remember him playing against us in Rodgers first spell for Salzburg and being an impressive defensive midfielder, screening his defence and starting attacks. He made a €14m move to Hoffenheim around 2000 but it hasn’t ever really worked for him, with moves to Olympiakos and Cadiz on loan in there too. He is still only 28 so should be in his prime for that sort of role but only got 6 months left on his deal.

If he could get back to anything like the player he was at Salzburg he would be exactly the sort of number 6 a lot of people have been crying out for on here. Not a giant at around 5’10 but he was strong and mobile, very difficult to get past and just made the game look very easy.

The player for that position I would like us to try sign would be Pavel Sulc of Viktoria Plzen but he may go to a big 5 league. I actually came across a young player in the Czech league who looks a real talent either as an attacking midfielder or off the right wing, Matej Sin. He is a 20 year old breaking through at Banik Ostrava but has already been included in the Czech International squads.

In 18 games this season he has 4 goals and 4 assists but what impressed me more was his technical ability and spatial/ game awareness. He has a good strike of his preferred left foot but also good close control and a burst of pace when dribbling. He will no doubt be at Slavia Prague shortly as they hoover up young talent in the league for buttons then sell them on.

 

I think sulc is on his way to West Ham is he not? Sure I seen a fabrizio Romano past about him recently.

good scouting on the other boy though, I wonder how easy it is to just get a job with the club! Surely someone who looks across all the leagues can see a player as well as whoever they currently have employed
