Lennon was December, but there was no transfer window then. We've had some great signings in Jan like Commons, MOR, Griffiths, Sammy, Lustig and Daizen, but they didn't cost much.

We need to be thinking about next seasons Champions League playoff..

I like the messaging coming from Rodgers on strengthening..

    Think we'll add 3 maybe 4

GS podcast reckons Tierney plus one winger, maybe two.

I think we will bring a few in this window despite our current lead in the league and decent chance at CL progress. As mentioned in the CL thread the money on offer now when you get a decent draw has really ramped up. We win against Young Boys at Home and we will have made over £52m all in from CL even if we lose both legs of the play off.

We had £77m in the bank and sold about £36m worth in the summer to more than offset what we spent. We are about to sell Bernabei for another £4-5m and have interest in the likes of Palma for another few million.

I also think there maybe something in the Kyogo stories that could occur after the window shuts or at the end of it once the CL league games are done, so we would need to sign a striker. Apparently Brondby will likely have to sell one of their main players this month as they did not qualify for European group stage football and run at a deficit. If we are still keen on Kvistgaarden he is the most likely to move on.

In addition, in the world of FSR if we were looking for a season to spend some money this would be the one to target where we have a big transfer income and high revenue from CL football.

I know we had good circumstances last year and a title challenge but the manager and club seemed at odds then leading to a lack of activity.

Tierney is likely to end up here, I think we will sign at least one if not 2 wingers, a centre midfielder or possibly 1 winger and an attacking midfielder that can also play wide and a striker if Kyogo is to leave.

Would take that, potentially another winger on top of that if we manage to shift palma but I can’t see all that happening in a month. As long as we’re properly working behind the scenes to make sure the summer is a good window then Tierney and a winger would be just about acceptable this month.

Would like to see Nawrocki at least go on loan to see what he can do / try bump up his value. Get a 6 month loan in to cover.

As @Foley1888 said we can spend cash no bother at all, I expect 4 in. We should be looking at more business in January and less in summer if possible

I think if we can get a good No.6 in we would beat Young Boys, and have a fighting chance of winning the play offs.

Would also help with two more Hun derby games, and another possible meet up with them in the Scottish Cup, so regardless of how well we have done this year, and we have, I still want a CDM, because I feel it is the missing piece of the Celtic jigsaw.

No new signings can play in the remaining two league phase games in Europe.

Can register 3 changes for the knockouts.

We need two wingers for sure.

And we also need another CB but reckon that'll happen in the summer. Striker too.

Can’t see us signing a CB if we’ve spent £6 mil on trusty recently. Think it’ll be a young prospect or a youth. Also we have £10 mil in lagerbielke-nawrocki :67:

I really dont think we need much.
Get KT back, and a winger.
After that, a proper experienced midfield, maybe even a loan, a bit like Mooy type.

What we need in terms of helping us secure that last 16 would be

    LB
    CDM
    LW

    Back up RW.
Still think we need a number 10 type with pace but that’s never going to happen in this window.

What I think we will get is:

    LB
    LW

In terms of making the last 16 the biggest factor will be the draw of who we face. We will literally be one of if not the team everyone will want to face in the playoff.

A win against YB which the transfer window can’t impact has to be the major focus. That and making sure we take care of Killie and get to the next round of the cup.

Nothing, but it's not what I've seen from them - it's more what I've seen from us in recent months (or haven't).

I'm not saying our form has been atrocious but there are a few worrying signs for me. We've had 4 'big' games recently: Brugge, Zagreb, Rangers x2.

We failed to win a single one of those in 90 minutes. In fact, we looked poor for the majority of every one. Each game came with a big incentive but we massively disappointed and just about scraped the final. Apart from Brugge who were decent, the opposition was rubbish as well.

So if we continue this sort of form in games that matter the most I don't see us beating YB.

In terms of signings has there been any progress?

A few little bits and pieces going on in the background, both ins and outs, but nothing to declare as of yet.

Stephen Welsh, do you expect that to go through in Belgium on loan? Does that create a vacancy for a B-list player in the Champions League squad, maybe a Dane Murray or someone?

Well, we've brought Dane back for that purpose.

He's a young player that I really thought highly of. The bits I've seen of him, he obviously had horrendous spell of injuries and we sent him to Queen's Park, where Callum and his team and the club done a brilliant job with him to ease him. After a long injury period out, where he virtually trained every day and got really good coaching and was at a fantastic club there.

So the whole idea then was to bring him back. Stephen's a player that's pretty much been a part of the fabric of this club for so many years. He's one of the guys that helps create the culture because they've come through the system.

But there also comes a time when they need to look at their own career. So there's a possibility that he'll go out doing the loan. It's not confirmed yet, but for him to go out and Dane come back, it's quite an easy transition really

We’ve had a lot of big games. More than the ones mentioned though. So cherry picking ones where we haven’t reached the level we can is not an overall picture in my opinion. Folk are talking like we’ve been poor in every game for months, and it’s not the case. We have had a few games where we’ve looked a bit sluggish, but more often than not still got the job done. The fact our level has dropped given the number of games recently isn’t a huge surprise either. The game against Brugge ended up a fair result. After we went 1-1 we looked the more likely. YB are clearly nowhere near the same level as Brugge either. We will need to be good to beat YB, but we wouldn’t need to be at our best. They have shipped 11 goals in their last two CL games.

Hope Dane Murray gets a chance here, maybe Brendan will throw him in a few games near the end of the season when there’s nothing to play for.

Rather be the underdog and people write us off, like they did after the 7-1 game.
