He did overreact with the Taylor comment. I still agree with him regards the fan moaning tbh.

Does he need to say it? Perhaps not but it's not the fiest time. I'm sure Ange said similar about fans needing to be patient at times.

However because this is Rodgers he will get it tighter. Hence why I said about a lot of people clearly very eager for him to slip up and allow them to have a go. It's clear as day.

I'm over it already and would urge others to do so as well.

It had to happen at one stage and I had a feeling that a game where they HAD to win at home, full of their fans and with us not really having to win, it was likely to be then.

The manner of the performance annoyed me but listen its been a great season so far and people need to look at the bigger picture. Pretty confident we will look back at that result as an anomaly this season...after yesterday that already seems to be the case!

He could be pointing out the Brugge game because we have an even bigger CL game coming up, where the fans will have a big part to play. We don’t need some getting their knickers in a twist after 10 minutes if we haven’t scored. Which would only heap pressure on the players. Everyone will have a part to play that night to get us through to the play-off round.

Aye, it was definitely an odd one from Rodgers though... pointless..

You do wonder if Taylor wants to leave because he gets so much abuse from us. And that's spilled over when we sang for KT yesterday, as Rodgers has said countless times he wanted him to stay..

We are spoiled as * as a support as times tbf, no doubt about it. We expect a treble every season..

For me it's Europe that is our true benchmark and we'll need unite and be patient when we play YB.

His point may be valid but the way he delivers it and the timing is very naive off the back of one of the worst performances in a derby in our history just 3 days prior.

Yes, some fans might still hold a grudge over the way he left, but I think a larger portion just now have a distrust of him and his "one of us" claims, and therefore his honesty when it comes to his media spiel. His lack of self-awareness and also inability to read the room here is what's foolish, rather than the relevance of the point he's making (except re: Taylor - that is down right ridiculous).

He's undone a lot of the goodwill he had earned back this season with the way he's got the team performing, on the back of a win is just strange timing from him.

The Taylor stuff is bizarre as the Tierney singing had nothing to do with him, not like Taylor had a nightmare and was subbed and people were singing to get it up him.

Moaning about fans moaning I do see the point a bit, when theres a really flat atmosphere and moaning you do feel like we struggle but then part of it is we were playing * to start with so the moaning begins. If yesterday we came out flying and pinned them in and had 2/3 shots in the first few minutes it wouldn't have happened.

The opening 30 minutes was probably the worst home performance this season by far, absolutley nothing happened and we looked lethargic and flat. Minutes were disappearing with nothing going on.

    Context is needed here.

Yes, I’ve gotten over the Rangers result. But the manner in which the team played still lingers. Rodgers must know that this is the case for many fans.

Yes, we had a result like that coming. But when it’s plain for all to see that most players were not performing, you still don’t make the first change until well into second half? And for me, it was all about a statement, that it was an unacceptable performance. The unwillingness to change was hard to watch.

For me, the above paired with yesterday’s post match comments doesn’t sit well.

Which is a shame, since the season so far has been really good in the grand scheme of things!

I was at the game and never heard the KT stuff, it must have been restricted to a small number and obviously didn't last long. Brenda is entitled to say what he wants, but it's not a big deal.

Not looking too much into it.

Has a point about the morning and still obviously hurt from Thursday. Probably wants to get the point across in advance of YB.

As for the Taylor stuff. He wants to keep him. The way to keep him is to make him happy. I might be picking it up wrong here but Taylor has definitely said some to him about can never make the fans happy and it’s irked him a bit.

    An overreaction none the less.

    Here the whole time
Just watched the post match conference in full, thought it all came across as a wee bit pathetic to be honest. Clearly upset at (deserved) criticism that's come his and the teams way after the hun debacle hes hit back like a wee boy partaking in a bit of whataboutery.

The Maeda/Brugge thing was especially cringey. See if that bothered you that much Brendan then you should have brought it up at the time, but then you weren't coming off the back of an utter humiliation, so it didn't suit. The worst part, though, was " Trust the players, trust the manager. If you don't, then" followed by wee face pull.
What, exactly did you mean by that wee face Brendan? I know what I think you were implying, and if so it was the snidiest part of a fairly petulant wee rant.

Let's be honest here, unless you're indulging in some serious revisionism the atmosphere at the modern CP hasn't really changed that much over the last 3 decades. Sure, its evolved somewhat with regards to singing and chanting but the overall atmosphere has always been dictated by whats going on on the pitch. Mumps, moans and groans have always greeted slow, laboured play or misplaced passes etc. I could see his point in this we outburst if it was getting vitriolic but from what I gather, having not been at the game, it wasn't.

The whole Greg Taylor thing was bizarre and up there with the old kirk broadfoot limited ability quote. Can't remember who that was again.

Have seen numerous people suggest this and I'd say it's just complete paranoia.

Tbf, it's probably best he got if off his chest now..

We need to be united for the YB game..

And every season will have some bumps in the road too.

Agree about the fans getting on the players backs it has gotten more noticeable over the last few seasons but the taylor thing he needs to grow a back bone if we sing about Henrik is that disrespectful to kyogo and idah
