They can take Palma and keep Bogusz too. Think we can do better.

Celtic could be set to reignite their interest in a former £8million transfer target after reports he was ‘questioning his future’ emerged over the weekend.

Los Angeles FC attacker Mateusz Bogusz was a big target for Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers in the summer, with the Celtic boss prepared to pay around £8million for the attacking midfielder who had shone in the American MLS, only for the move to break down in the final days of the window

The 23-year-old Polish ace was rumoured to be closing in on a move to Glasgow alongside Lausanne ace Alvyn Sanches, with Sky Sports reporting that the champions had submitted a formal bid for Bogusz, only for the club to turn their attention to Arne Engels, who signed in the final hours of deadline day for a record fee of £11million.

Don't think he's the answer at all.

We need pace and when I watched him he didn't have it. Maybe if Rodgers intends to go back to playing a no10. Perhaps.

I think even if we go back to a system that incorporates a 10, pace is a necessity. We’ve seen in the past how much the likes of Rogic struggled in Europe with the speed of the game.

Aye I'd agree. However for the 10 he did seem to have enough...more thinking for out wide he didn't have that extra burst.

Rogic is quite an extreme example as he was an absolute carthorse.

Yep. We need more pace and quality..

Look at Kuhn as a prime example of having both, which terrifies defenders...even on the elite stage..

All elite players coming through in the game are almost athletes first aren’t they . The whole game is set up for pace and power now. Costs a lot!

Absolutely spot on, you can see Rodgers is going for power and pace all over the park, or where it fits.

The EPL has completely gone this way more than any other league. Guys playing in that league are almost all athletically built and the actual technical ability at times probably suffers but to even get a foothold in a game you need to have that athleticism, all the teams doing well just now are like that Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Notts Forrest, Villa and Newcastle are all teams built like that.

That's what we should be doing as well. May sound counterintuitive, but we should be primarily targeting good athletes like Maeda, Engels, Trusty or Johnston rather than gifted footballers like Lubo, Naka or Rogic. Obviously, if we can somehow find a player who can do it all, that would be amazing. Kuhn is the only one who fits the bill from our current squad. Jury is still out on Engels though.

They need a decent level of footballing ability too. I certainly wouldn't want another Olly Burke.

LAFC were reportedly interested in Palma.

They sell Bogusz for 12m. They buy Palma for 5m. Everyone's happy!
