Must be * off. Barely put a foot wrong and for some mental reason he’s been dropped for a guy who is quite clearly levels below him.

I don't get it we look to have identified 2 positions in LB and CB that needed improving from last season have brought in Trusty and Valle who have looked absolutely fine yet still Scales and Taylor are getting the nod.

Madness. I think we all thought, when Scales started at the weekend, that it was a sure sign Trusty would get the Hun game.

I think it's terrible management from Rodgers tbh.

I haven't criticised him much since coming back but it's evident scales is his pet.

Same with Taylor at full back. Trusty had am average 45 mins in the cup final and is hooked and not seen since after a great 2.5 months...utterly bizarre.

I know he's had a flu but seems weird he's had no game time at all..

It's as if something else is up that we're unaware of..

Must not be fit, only reasonable explanation.

Rodgers has picked Trusty and CCV as first choice from fully fit squad for a few games in a row - up until recent league game where Scales came on at HT for his more direct passing ability :39::43:

Agree with the suggestion that there must be some sort of issue we're not aware of. Scales has been in on merit imo but Trusty has done well enough to still get game time.

Suppose we'll know on Sunday if scales gets the nod. * weird situation.

Whole defence were murder in the cup final, fair enough making a change but leaving Trusty out for weeks on end is very questionable.

Ive given Scales a lot of credit for what he’s achieved in the last 12 months but that experiment should have come to an end when we spent £5m on a new CB.

Him and Taylor on the same side is our main downfall.

I think it's probably that Trusty doesn't bring the ball out much from the back and CCV doesn't really do it either and having both defenders who just play it short and safe maybe takes away from getting through teams.

Scales does try to get the ball forward although mediocre at best at it and gives the ball away a lot.

I think as well though a lot of the time Scales plays forward balls is out of panic, like CCV and Trusty are calm and comfortable in possession and they will pass it back and forth and around all day. A lot of the times Scales tries to pass balls into McGregor or Taylor or Hatate is because he just wants rid of the ball and he'll pass balls in when they are running towards him with players pressing them from behind, suicidal balls but he does it numerous times every game instead of biding our time to better oppertunities appear.

One thing for sure Rodgers has a weird track record with centre backs

When you think about it, Trusty was subbed at HT in the final after doing little wrong yet yesterday Scales had an abysmal first half and was left on to finish the game(he was no better after the break either). I simply do not understand why Rodgers has dropped Trusty for Scales, I can't think of one thing Scales does better.

Trusty surely has to start at the weekend. He is overall the better player IMHO from what I have seen. I think Scales has a bit better distribution but Trusty for me is much better in the air and a flat out better defender in 1v1 duels.
