One of them unfortunate ones. Watched it and he done ok.

 

I thought he was playing well from what I saw, but his teammates weren’t using him.

 

He’s far from settled in there yet and Brighton are a well oiled machine. He played well though, the OG was unlucky. That’s what is the most noticeable part though the OG.

People don’t watch games mostly, or highlights at the most, and will judge players looking at goals/assist stats. It’s a real irritating thing for me that, it’s something that would make Zidane and Iniesta look poor rather than judging a player on the pitch.

Brighton have made 4 subs and O'Riley isn't one of them, he being protected due to injury or something because I thought he had recovered from that weeks ago

 

He missed their last game through injury

 

For all the money they've spent this year Brighton don't look that great. Wonder if MOR would have been better under De Zerbi

 

First half tonight before I changed to the Arsenal game anyway, O’Riley was the only bright spot for Brighton.

De Zerbi left knowing he’d reached the peak with Brighton without further backing and a change in direction. And that’s understandable because Brighton have a structure they won’t break and take that gamble, and it’s Brighton, they have no expectations of pretending they are elite, they get the best out what they can. De Zerbi, he got the very best out of that structure, the very best that anyone could expect from him.


When he left, the next guy not getting the absolute best from the club was always going to happen. They’re still doing well though, thats the thing

 

Their fans are throwing the toys out the pram about the manager. Maybe they've became entitled due to all their recent success

 

Seen a few of their games last month and if they took chances the draws would have been easy wins. Dominating teams.

Had a wee look in the Matt O'Riley thread on the Brighton forum to see what they're making of him, pretty mixed but quite a few aren't taking to him so far, some saying he's lightweight and looking out his depth, anonymous etc

Lad got a bad injury for the first time in his career, probably taking him time to fully recover from that I'd say which could be affecting his performances
