and is set to bring Dane Murray back from loan at Queen’s Park. Murray is attracting Premiership and English interest but could now be kept in the building and he would also satisfy the homegrown rule for Europe.

Does this imply that perhaps Taylor or Welsh are moving on and we need Murray to fulfil the quota for the knockouts (should we qualify)?

edit: just seen Welsh is away on loan

I could see us bring Murray back as cover for the Euro games at the end of the month but then loan him out to a Scottish Premiership team at the end of the window when those games are played, if he doesn’t feature for us and become ineligible.

That wouldn’t count as one of our loans. I would be keen to try get Yang and Holm out to Premiership team too, if we get our signings in.

Could he wrong mate, but Murray isn't on the B list that was submitted in September so I think he's inelligeble for last 2 group games.

Dane Murray is a very good prospect. I was more impressed with him than Welsh tbh under Ange, before he got his very bad injury. By all accounts, he is having a very good season at the City Stadium under Calum Davidson. I don't think he is coming back just to be loaned out again, I think he will walk straight into being our 4th CB, with Welsh and Nawrocki heading out the door.

Can’t believe he’s only 21. The games he played seems a different era

I don’t think we’ll manage to get Nawrocki out the door. Relatively decent fee for him for us, he’ll be on a half decent wage, and that wage will be bigger than can earned elsewhere - and he’s not rated enough to shift him elsewhere them paying it even on loan.

Lagerbielke was, that’s why we got the loan and he had his moment scoring a CL winner. He’s went on loan and struggling for game time now last i heard. Saying that I just looked up his appearances and it’s more than I thought so might be wrong there.

Welsh has had a lot of interest through the years throughout a lot of decent clubs in Europe, we could shift him, the homegrown thing for us though makes it more difficult and Murray has a chance there.

Always say Celtic need to learn to take a bad deal- ala taking 2m for a 4/5m shiter rather than letting his contract run down. Always do it.

On Nawrocki, he’s not shown up badly imo. Think his lack of availability wound BR up more than anything, not quite suited to our aggressiveness but not a bad player but any stretch.

If that’s your 5th choice and not getting a look in i’m not stressing.

He had an all time shocker vs Aberdeen last year. Been generally poor most other times he’s played except right at the start next to CCV, but so did the big Japanese CB next to him until we seen him with another partner.

    5th choice I don’t mind. It’s not an issue.

We could accept a bad deal, if ones even offered, but if he’s on more money than elsewhere 3 years left on a deal why would he accept it? That’s usually the problem when we can’t shift these guys

He defended Miovski horribly for the goal to a level i’d have done better. However, that apart just bang average imo as always.

Completely understand your point but they often structure these things to include paying a portion of wages if you are cutting a loss. We only ever seem to take market value or in McCarthy’s case - reject a fee for someone valueless.

Celtic have exercised a clause in their loan agreement with us to recall Dane Murray to Celtic Park.

The talented 21 year old defender made 20 appearances for the Spiders in the first half of the season, and departs with our thanks for his efforts and best wishes for his future career.

Director of Football Darren O’Donnell said: “It was great to have Dane with us for the first half of the season and it ensured we had cover due to the unfortunate long term injury of Charlie Fox. Celtic have now recalled Dane and we wish him all the very best for the future.”

Anyone know what the plan is for the boy? Personally if Welsh isn’t up to the standard I can’t see Murray being near it either.

Welsh is never going to improve much, whereas Murray has the potential to kick on and improve.

Both would need to be played to find that out.

Will be interesting to see how Welsh does in Belgium. Especially, if he gets consistent game time and can avoid injuries. His passing out is a real positive for his position for me.
