Would play valle against st Johnstone but Taylor must play against rangers.

rangers will try to block balls going to McGregor again and Taylor is probably the best full back we have at dropping into midfield so more and likely we need someone extra dropping in there so he will be the best out ball for our centre halves

I know he’s not everyone’s ideal player but he is pivotal to the way we play especially when McGregor can’t get on the ball

The Huns will target him and interceptions from his sideways passes to McGregor, which is normally so vital in our build up, so we've got to think around that, either get him to stay wider and pass forward more or potentially play Valle

I give him credit where it's due - it's not like he's been abysmal his whole time here and he's definitely had some great performances over the years. He was pretty consistent in Ange's era (particularly in 22/23).

Completely disagree with your summary of him though. I think 6/10 is a fair rating. We need better and he's by far the weakest "starter" in our team. I highly doubt he becomes a pivotal player for another team at a good level.

Bottom end Championship/League One at best.

Average at best and 6/10 isn’t giving him the credit he’s due. It’s absolute nonsense. He’s been a lot better than that. The weakest starter in our team is Scales.

    This. Nutshell.

He never shouldve been anything more than the back LB imo. Cover for an injured or rested LB, who can do a decent job domestically a la Ralston.

Again, for the cheap seats, its not like he's been an unmitigated disaster. Hes given mire than handful of great performances, and works his socks off.
But hes a * liability. Simple as that. Woefully exposed as a defender against any side with a semblance of quality.

Much like im sick of seeing Scales drag players down in the box because he * up a touch, im sick of watching Taylor make an * of bread and butter football.

I'd be happy to see the back of both of them.

Hopefully he will sign a pre-contract gig down south, he is a hard working player but we need a better player in that role.

Think he’d do well for a Burnley/Sheff utd tbf. Less attacking so not caught out up the pitch and asked to do less overall would help his game

CELTIC star Greg Taylor is a shock target for new Dinamo Zagreb boss Fabio Cannavaro at the end of his contract.

The Scotland defender can talk to clubs from tomorrow with less than six months remaining of his Hoops contract with him looking increasingly unlikely to sign a new deal.

And reports in Croatia have indicated that legendary Italian World Cup-winning star Cannavaro has targeted Taylor and made him a priority signing for the Croatian side for next season.

Taylor played and was booked in Celtic's recent goalless draw with Dinamo Zagreb at the Maksimir Stadium in the Champions League.

Cannavaro took charge of Dinamo last week after they lost patience with manager Nenad Bjelica after a dismal league campaign.

He's previously managed the Chinese national team and Udinese as well as working in Saudi Arabia.

He's been promised funds to restore Dinamo and has made a shortlist with Taylor's name on it.

We broke the new exclusively that Celtic were in pole position to bring Taylor's fellow left back Kieran Tierney either in this window or in the summer.

Dinamo are unlikely to move for Taylor this month and want to wait until his contract expires.

They travel to Turkey this week for a training camp.

Dinamo Zagreb would be a decent nove for him if he’s going as first choice.

MLS would be the better lifestyle but Dinamo play in Europe and he’d be competing for titles still.

Good move for the wee man if it happens. Be good for him to sign off with another treble and move on in the summer, would be well deserved.

Surely Dinamo Zagreb won’t pay the wages he is supposed to be looking for? I would be very surprised if Taylor ends up there.

MLS or England make sense financially but I can’t see him refusing to sign and extension for us and going there.

If he is going to go, would rather it was in January so we get a fee.

Scales has developed into a better player than Taylor. When have you ever seen GT getting MoTM in a CL game?

Laugh away laughing boy. Taylor is way out of his depth at CL level, while Scales has at least 2 MoTMs at CL level.

I used to slag of Scales a lot. Then he won me over with his defensive abilities. Then I was moaning about his distribution. Now he's markedly improved that.

That would be such a weird move for him. What would he be getting at Dinamo Zagreb that he wouldn’t get here?

You would imagine he’s looking for a decent pay day and a decent length of contract as it will probably be his last major one. So, would they give him that? Can’t see them giving him any more than he would get here.

Lifestyle wise, surely offers on the table from the MLS, where the standard of life is so much better? I’ll be honest, I’m ignorant to Zagreb as a place to live, no idea if it’s a nice place to stay. See the weather is pretty decent.

Might be a challenge he wants to look at and a new, different challenge than driving him. Always thought he would go down south and be closer to the likes of Christie and Ajer, as they were really good pals and their missus are all close.
