Would like to hold on to him for another couple of seasons because, knowing Celtic, we will struggle hugely to replace him (I mean, more than anyone else would).

 

Struggle? Simply put, he can't be replaced.

Hate it when German teams come in, because they don’t spend mental fees on players but it’s a league most players would love a dig at.

If a big bid comes in he’ll be off regardless of the league though, and as others have said, he’ll be almost impossible to replace there and then.

Probably be more gutted to see him go than VVD to be honest. Maybe no a better player overall but there’s just something about him at the back for us, our most important player outwith the captain for sure.

 

I might be too blindly optimistic here but i don't think its a certainty that he goes if a big offer comes in. We've improved as a club behind the scenes. Now we can offer players more, maybe not financially but players want security and a place where they feel most valued. We will see though and hope because I completely agree that he's irreplaceable.
We should emphasise that he's injury prone to throw them off. VVD made it look effortless but CCV is as reliable as it gets

 

Ya, it will be extremely difficult, moreover given our level of spending.

I do think we're likely to lose a few first team players this summer, but I was thinking more along the lines of Hatate, Kyogo and Taylor, all of which we could replace.

CCV will be near impossible to replace, we could get a CB that's available more often than he is, maybe one that's a bit taller too, but to get one who's been as consistent as CCV is will be near impossible.

I'd be trying to keep him for next season at the least, but he will be 27 at the end of this season, might be thinking it's time to move on.

Fecking hate it when we start to hear these type of rumours, especially when it's guys like CCV that's getting mentioned

I'm actually abit worried about the summer, I can see ccv, reo, kyogo, kuhn, and taylor all looking away in the window. Whether we let them all go is a different story but we could look very different going into next season.

Feels like the end of this teams cycle coming up which sucks.

 

It really gives me the fear. There’s a few players I’ve become extra attached to and he’s one of them. Could be that he’s already happy as can be, there’s examples of players making it big like VVD but also there’s also so many who fade into obscurity. He does a * of a job here and no wonder big clubs are interested, I just think we’ve been on a trajectory for a few years and have built something worth staying for in many areas. We can definitely afford to keep hold of a few key players and offer them enough. Maybe kidding myself on but let’s hope so
